Just Don shouldn't feel left out--he has lots of runny cow poop.

It could be worse, you could milk goats! Gawd, there is nothing worse than a billy goat!

Watch out of all the doves in your barn though, you got doves right? Tell them no bird flu, o.k?

gee thanks Ponytail!!!
Really didnt think anybody cared. I just stare at the four walls. And the boob tube! Nobody else to make enough noise. [Big Grin]
To Linda--
I dont have any doves around since they have all gone south for the winter. I do have a few pidgeons (sp) tho of which I am 'aiming' to reduce a few numbers since they are such a 'dirty' bird! If you dont stay on top of the population cycle they can explode on you. Rather like the 'old' days when you can get one to crash land the ground out of flight. Cats enjoy that too!!! And they do spread diseases.
If any body has any first rate ideas of how to keep sparrows and starlings out of outside sheds, that would be most appreciated. My BB gun I bought for this just isnt accurate enough, I find. Maybe if I put pellet in it. But never did that for fear of making the roof holely.

But the wonderment I felt when I opened the page this morning and saw a thread all of my own, with yur help. Gee ponytail, yes, [group hug] , I AM feeling the love. Problem is I am SO old, now I have to [sleepy] . Cuz I still B --just don-- [Eek!]

Im feeling a little left, no, I mean out of the"know" loop about all this poop stuff.

Im no expert but having lived in several rural places in this world with various poopers I will testify that pig poop is THE worst.

Try living next to a field covered each spring with pig poop. Unbelievable smell.

The chicken farm down the road was sweet smellin next to those piggies. when the chickens were little I use to go down ther and get their first eggs that were no bigger than 1inch. Took a dozen for breakfast. My daughter loved to walk down and get them.

That was the same place that she was so late coming home from school one day that I set out to find her and there in the middle of the dirt path was a cow giving birth to a calf. Fun memory, thanks for letting me share.

Just Don,

Have you tried the blow up owls?

I also have black silouettes of hawks on my windows to keep the birds from hitting the windows. The really funny thing is sometimes the big hawks will hit my window--I can see were they were "leading" the pretend hawk trying to catch it. I have actually run outside and seen the big fellows trying to "shake off" hitting that window at who knows what speed!

There also the rubber snakes--that might help.

My best friend in high school, her mother was a British war bride and she wouldn't allow cats or a corn snake in the barn. They owned a dairy farm--they had rats and birds--it was the nastiest barn I had ever been in...yuk!

Sweet story about the baby calf! And your right--pigs are bad!
