What is the best air purifier I could get that would help with mold that isnt too expensive?
im looking for something that is under 300.

Eqoquest Fresh Air was highy recommended to me by a "building biologist." There is a timed ozone feature, so you can set ozone for a few hours and have it turned off before you return. Ozone is very powerful against mold, but harmful to breath, so this is a great feature. Would love to have one myself.
The are expensive, but you can get one off ebay for 300-400.

When we were going through our mold problem, we got a Honeywell air purifier with a HEPA filter that worked really well.
Found it at the local hardware store. It helped me survive until we had the problem fixed. I think it's somewhere around the $200-300 range.

I have one by Prozone....look online. I have the one that is also an ozone thingy on it.
It's $160+ including shipping. Bought mine several years ago. I did notice you can buy it through Amazon....so if you click on Amazon here, Lymenet will benefit!!

I know about two products, both on the expensive side:
Aranizer: this was recommended to me by my doc. specifically for mold. It's not an air purifier--instead, it emits some kind of molecule that binds to mold, making the mold fall down out of the air. Or at least that's what it says it does! I bought the SS4x for about $300 when I was really frustrated about my high mold reactions, but since I don't have mold in my place, I really don't know how well it works.
IQ Air: To me, this looks like the best true air purifier on the market. I don't have one, but I've tested out the mobile unit, and it's really impressive. I think it costs $800-900. A lot of the small air purifiers can't take in much air (and the machines can only purify the air that passes through it). The IQ is big & powerful, and it will change over the air in a room fairly quickly. And it looks like a little robot on wheels.
I didn't buy one, because I already had the Aranizer, and I had just spent a lot of money fixing my leaky ducts and replacing my carbon-monoxide-spewing furnance, so the air in my place is already much, much cleaner than it used to be.

I'm looking into the EcoQuest Fresh Air or the IQ Air, both are expensive, but I have tried to go with other models without success. I need a powerful ozonator, one that the carpet companies would be ideal but I don't know where I could rent or borrow one.
I just bought a Ecoquest FreshAirC, barely out the box and it is a great air purifier in general but does not produce enough ozone to kill mold.

I bought an EcoQuest from someone awhile ago - long story. I don't even really know what I have. I've never used that special setting (ozone feature?) 'cause it scared the heck out of me. Okay, I can leave the house while it's in operation, but what about pets? Anybody know?
Okay, I just looked. It's an Ecoquest Breeze, and it says that feature is a "sanitizer" and should only be used in unoccupied spaces. But, again, what about my pets? And if you're not using that feature, what is the unit doing?

SayYesh, I wouldn't leave the pets around with the ozone. (If that is the purifier setting, on some features it isn't. If you've been told not to have the purifier setting on when at home likely it is ozone.)
The ozone setting helped tremendously with my mold and other allergies. So much so that my energy, concnentration were affected. Now I need to get my hands on one!
I am not familiar with the Ecoquest Breeze. The customer support at Ecoquest is fantastic. Perhaps you can call them.
