Sadly I am new to the discussion group. While in Maryland I picked up the nasty tick and contracted Lyme disease. I am extremely tired and achy. I am back to work for 4 hours a day but can hardly drag myself home. Does anyone have any info on whether becoming too tired slows the healing process? Any help on dealing with this disease would be helpful

Welcome Leonard; from one IOWAN to another IOWAN!

Fatigue has nothing to do with the progress of getting better from my personal experience of 2.5 years.

I'll PM, private message, you my 19 pages newbie links/advise. You will be overwhelmed about how much info is out there. Read/print Dr. Burrascano's 05 LYME TREATMENT GUIDELINES to help you understand treatment process better. Look over the extensive SYMPTOM LIST too.

Do you have a LLMD, LYME LITERATE MD? If not send me a NEW message when you receive my PM newbie's link; found lower right-hand corner of page.

Glad the Rain Forest is headed your way. Love coming to tulip days there; town has really grown!

This is just my experience and it is not meant to be seen as medical advice - it may be completely different for you...

I tried working pt (about 12 hrs a week)
a few yrs ago....

I had to conserve all my energy just to work those few lousy hours ...

and it just made me sicker and sicker...

I had to quit.

Hopefully working wont impact you this way.

I probaly was really to sick to start trying to work when I did and I think that that is mostly why it made me sicker.

Best wishes

That's a tough call. Dr B says in his guidelines that the two main reasons people fail in treatment is:

a. continued use of alcohol
b. lack of adequate rest

Now, that doesn't mean you won't get well if you're working. You just have to be sure to get adequate rest....whatever THAT is for YOU.

Are you seeing the good dr in Missouri??
