I am coordinating the month-long Walk Against Lyme Disease. We have just completed our first week, with over 20 walkers participating from Maine, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Texas, and Louisiana.
I have been able to walk to the state legislature to hear May declared Lyme Disease Awareness Month in the State of Maine. They also passed a resolution to tell Congress to pass the federal Lyme bill, and will be working on a state bill this summer.
I have climbed a small mountain to catch the view, and walked through a forest to see the first flowers of spring (hey, the season comes late here in Maine!).
