I live in Chautauqua County, NY (western NY state). The health commissioner claims Lyme Disease and Babesia don't exist in this county, despite my positive tests and coinsiding symptoms. Do you hear the same bologna?

There's no Lyme here either. I contracted it in Montgomery County, Ohio. My doctor wouldn't report it even with my CDC positive test.
I know of three people in Warren County, Ohio who were diagnosed last year. I now live in Warren County, where there is also no Lyme.
What a joke.

I live in the Finger Lakes Region of NY-Ontario County -no Lyme here either....I did not test positive, but certainly had symptoms! Think it's just a matter of time before the big awakening happens around here-

Evidently, there is no Lyme in Central New Jersey...at least according to my daughter's doctor...who ran a WB to humor me, and gave her the bum's rush when it came out positive.

My neurologist informed me that lyme was "rare" here (in northern California).
As if that's not enough, he was incredulous that there were even ticks here.

My local doc says we have no lyme in Nebraska,,,we have the WRONG kind of ticks.
First question is where were you traveling to get this??
Obviously there is a low barricade around and along the Missouri river that says in tinsey weeny tick type lanquage,,STAY OUT!!

Kentucky is lyme free also. But recently I've read more and more on Kentucky being one of those states listed, research shows otherwise.
Thank God, my GP wasn't/isn't a duck.

Well, there IS Lyme in northern VA and it is acknowledged. Some of the counties even have education programs about its prevention!
To say it's endemic is putting it mildly! Despite many LLMD's in the area it's next to impossible to get an appointment with one if you are a new patient and don't have connections, like a family member already seeing the doctor.

I have been told that it is very rare here(Missouri) but it seems that more recently it is getting more attention.Especially after that little girl in St.Louis died from ehrlichiosis.I even had an ER doc tell me about Dr.C and he called him a "quack that thinks everybody has Lyme" that really got me boiling.But I guess he couldnt help being ignorant.

I live in KY,but I got bit by ticks in 1972 in Pittsfiled, NH. Stayed in NH until 2001, and I got dxd here in KY.
Sad to say no LLMD or Lyme friendly doctors here.

Lyme disease is very rare in Tallahassee Florida, even though you have all of the symptoms including the main ones, like being bit by a tick, getting the bulls eye rash and sever flu and fever, and when they finally do test, if it comes back neg. on the one test they do, then its not lyme disease. Been there - Done that, even though one of FSU's football players contacted it, but according to the CBS news, it was because he vacationed up north.

I'm from West Texas.. and it's not well known about here. There's some incidence of Lyme (according to CDC's site) in East Texas... but none where I'm at. At least my doctor turned in my positive test to the CDC.

Well there isn't Lyme in Louisiana either.
Not even if you count the eleven out of twelve people in less than
A quarter of a mile diagnosed with it.
Five of those were CDC positive.....the rest of us showed Lyme specific bands.....
Good thing there is no Lyme here...

I live in the Southern Tier of NY and I was shocked to pull out an insert in last Sunday's paper about Lyme disease!
The NY State Dept. of Health put it out.
It says on page 1, "The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and local health departments continue to investigate the spread of Lyme disease throughout New York State...."
It goes on to give some pretty good information in the 7-page insert. However, there was no mention of co-infections, testing difficulties, or ducks (hee, hee).
It has a few inaccuracies, such as, "Transfer of the bacteria from an infected pregnant woman to the fetus is extremely rare" and, "In most cases, the tick must be attached for 36 hours or more before the bacteria can be transmitted."
I think they also should have made a list of all the possible Lyme symptoms rather than just stating the few they always talk about in these public announcements, like severe fatigue and facial paralysis.
