Recap of week 13

Andie: Walked 5 or 6 days out of 7. Total miles unknown at this time but she usually walks a mile or a mile and a half each time.

KAM...1 out of 7 days. 10 min.

TuTu...struggling with sinus surgery. WE're pulling for you Tutu

CAthy...struggling with lyme...we're pulling for you Cathy

Just Don...forget being outstanding in the field...too cold and too wet. He is staying indoors, warm and dry. Spring is on the way Don.

Ok..I am forgetting someone??

Sunday....10 min in a pretty good rain...soaked/all dry creek beds are now flowing and high. Hoping I remember to bring an umbrella next time. WAter proof jacket is iffy

Sunday..went back for more. 20 min this time. Forgot the umbrella. But, did think to put on the rain poncho. Pants got soaked as I did some trail blazer through manzanita brush.

Followed the creek for awhile. Glad Rosie did not try to bounce through the creek like she usually does.

The creek is running fast. It would have washed her away.

Really enjoyed the sound of the running water..especially at the little waterfall area.

Cathy...so glad you were able to get out.

Do you use the electric scooters in the grocery store?

Ok....I'm getting my act together. Feeling the ground move under me the way you talk of, Kam, but I was out walking and walking today compared to the last few weeks.

Did 10 to 15 minutes twice and then a trip to the grocery store, so I'm gaining. Got tired of the dust you all were kicking in my face as you kept passing me over and over. Hehehehehe.

I can't go back and reconstruct last week. I think I walked 5 or 6 days but apparently never recorded it. Ah well. I'll start this week:

1 mile Sunday

Kam, hope you and Rosie are all dried off now. I could hear the sound of the water as I read your post...I always love your updates.

And cathy, I see you beside me now. That's great!

Hopefully, others will join us this week, too!

Thanks again, Kam, for posting the updates!

Andie

Thanks for being our leader Andie and keeping us going.

Looking forward to when I am walking a mile a day too or more. [Smile]

Ok, is it just me or do others find that you can walk more than usual on a particular day but then the next day, you are dead to the world. I can barely budge today and just want to sleep. WHAT is going on?

Cathy...your pail of water must be dry.

When I was first looking for answers, I had a person tell me about Chronic Fatigue. She said the goal is not to use up all the water in your pail.

The problem is we never really know how much water is in the pail so that is tricky.

I am thinking I have been kaput the past two days due to doing too much on Sunday and not getting sleep.

I was able to be outdoors to day in the Sun in my reclining power chair for about an hour. First sun we have had in a while and I hear another storm is coming for the rest of the week.

Rosie walked water today...frozen water. She didn't quite now what to think about slipping and sliding.

But, she did get some off leash time for about 15 min today which is more than she has had in a long time.

Ran into a fireman who said hi to Rosie and another lady who came up and said this must be Rosie.

Both people I do not know. Rosie is really popular around here. Cracks me up.

Hurray! I just got news that the water therapy is approved. I do not know for how many more sessions.

But, my first one is this Thursday and then once a week for Feb.

I will be adding it to the post as part of the moving the body.

Kam,

Thank you for the pail of water analogy. I know that before my diagnosis, I was running into being full of energy one day and total opposite the next, but in my treatment period, this honestly hadn't been happening.

I guess after 14 months of treatment, I was hoping that if I felt good, I could go for it, but guess I'll have to get a gage on this pail a little better since this has been insane.

Glad to hear that Rosie is becoming so darn popular. Dogs are such good companions for us when we don't feel good, but it's a warm feeling to have others loving our furry friends as well. Sounds like Rosie is a hit!!!!

Hoping I get my act together again and start treking along, but guess I'll pull short before wearing myself out to this degree next time. Thanks again for the tip.

Cathy

Yes finding the balance is very tricky. It would help if we had some kind of gage on us like my power chair has to let me know when the batteries are in the green, yellow or red.

I have thought of making an head band with the bars as the telephones have to let people know if I have good reception or weak. [Smile]

The trouble is it changes so quickly.

It has taken me ...well, started treatment in 2003 until now to be able to do what I am able to do now.

I feel I am so slow going as I do not have the resources to do all my doc suggest.

It was a few months ago..maybe more that others started providing the xango and some of the supplements.

I have seen the most improvement brain wise with that.

This person also said it was like a cosign and drew a graph for me ..with the ups and downs.

I do believe she has lyme..but do not know if she ever saw a lyme doc. I have lost track of her now.

Hi, everybody!

I'm right with you, in terms of energy waxing and waning. So far this week, I've walked every day, but the distances are shorter, and I feel like it's taking a bigger toll.

I've gone back on cordyceps--a Chinese herb my acupuncturist had me on for months (I begged off, because I felt it was just too expensive). Anyway, I need the energy more than the money, I guess...because I got more tonight. Hopefully, this will give me the boost I need.

I love it, kam, when our dogs become better known than we are. I refer to my Aussie as the mayor of the dog park, because he connects with everyone there.

Okay, for me this week:

1 mile Monday
1 mile Tuesday
1.5 miles today

And more tomorrow, I hope!!!

Here's to more energyfor all of us!

Andie...glad you were able to get out and walk.

My lyme doc suggested cordycep for me many years ago.

I think the brand is important as both the friend who took me and myself tried it and didn't notice anything.

Spring is coming. [Smile]

Water Therapy today.

6 one minute exercises with resting in between as needed. Two of them became very difficult. But, glad I was able to do all 6.

Wondering if that is what loosened me up to walk in teh forest.

10 min walk in the forest. 5 min in was good, but the 5 min out was tough. Glad I was not able to go further as the second creek crossing was too wide for me. I hd planned on going further.

I'll bet the water therapy is helping you, kam; I think it's very beneficial, and suspect it's only doing good things.

About the cordyceps, I do think the brand is important; I take one (expensive) recommended by my acupuncturist. Lyme is SUCH an expensive disease!!!

Anyway, I did walk this morning, but not too much. Our dog's got dementia and was pacing and stirring before 6. He needed a lot of care, just to get oriented. The meds we put him on don't seem to have worked.

Thursday -- 1 mile

Early to bed tonight, after the debates.

Andie

Glad you were able to get out yesterday.

How were the debates?

I can only take in about 3 bits of info and then my brain shuts down usually.

I do think the water therapy helped with the stiffness and soreness because it is back now.

I went out walking yesterday a couple of times and imagine it was about 1/2 an hour in all, totaled. Started getting light headed, so called it quits, but today, I'm back in bed, not getting this at all.

Kam, you may want to market that headband marking reception since I think I'd like to purchase one. [Smile] Hope the water therapy treats you well.

Andie, GOOD JOB! Keep it going.

LOl Cathy...what should we call it??

Able to walk 10 min in the forest.

Heart was still beating fast when I got home. Took a little bit of lying down to recover.

Able to hike about 15 min in the National Forest. The forest service was having controlled burns of the brush they had stacked up earlier.

It was on either side of the trail. The air quality was very bad so I turned back.

But, it was kind of fun to be there while they had the controlled burns.

They said they were doing it today because it was the first clear day without wind and tomorrow we are getting rain again or snow.

I thought if the fire got out of hand I wouldn't be able to run, but then I saw the forest service was using those carts so I could jump on it.

I also wondered why Rosie was not running about like she usually does. Then I remembered she stays close to me when the brain is not working well.

Not sure how she picks up on that.

I did get disorientated on the trial..one minute I knew was I was and then the next I didn't..this kept happening. I just had to wait until my brain came back and then continued.

Today wasn't the best day for me, either!

I went to a 1st birthday party at a firehall--what seemed like thousands of kids and a LOT of hard surfaced. Neuro symptoms kicked up, and I was overwhelmed with sound distortion. At least I was able to make it there. And I'll also make an appearance at least at the superbowl party tomorrow. Plus, we're having a super tuesday get-together on Tuesday. Busy times...I'm grateful for it all, but I do have to keep pacing myself.

I took a mental health day Friday. Needed it with this neuro stuff. And no walking, either.

cathy, I think it's great you were out walking, and hope it didn't all kick you too much. kam, you keep that dear Rosie by your side when you're feeling off. How wonderful she senses that!

1 mile for me today (Saturday).

Andie
