Some of you who have been around quite awhile probably remember me. Next week will be the 5th anniversary of when I finally stopped all medication for Lyme Disease. And I'm happy to report that I still have NO SYMPTOMS!!!!!

I am living proof that you can beat this disease!

When I first came to this forum in September of 2002 I became very depressed because I searched for months and months and couldn't find even one person who was cured of this horrible disease. At only 26 years old, I thought my life was over.

To this day I am convinced I never would have gotten better if I hadn't found this place. Everyone here taught me so much and pointed me in the right direction.

For anyone interested, my story is here:

http://www.anapsid.org/lyme/matthewgoss/index.html

That page hasn't been updated for about 4 years, but I think there is still a lot of very good information there. When I first suspected I had Lyme, I started that web page as a place to organize all of my thoughts and research in one place. I think some of the secrets to curing this disease can be found there.

Matt

Hey Matthew! [Big Grin] I remember you

WoW!!!! Five years symptom free is spectacular.

I too hope you'll put your story in the Success Story thread, as you can see there aren't very many who come back and give encouragement in that thread.

I hope you are symptom free forever and a day--good to see you.

Hey, thanks for sharing your story. Great web site.

Nice to know some people do get well.
Were you treated soon after infection?
Also which treatment worked best for you? Abx or natural?

One of the first things I did was find your website and it has helped me out quite alot, though finding that treatment is not that easy.

Thanks.

Hello Matthew

I can't say if I remember you or not, as I don't remember a lot of people, but I just wanted to tell you CONGRATULATIONS! [group hug] The five year mark is so important, in many illnesses / diseases, not just Lyme. Please keep in touch with us and let us know how life progresses.

Wishing you many, many Lyme-free years to come!

Matthew,

That is great news. I have just completed my first week of Rocephin and Vancomycin and although I actually feel worse today, I now know to have hope.

This forum has made a huge difference for me also. I really just stumbled across this list but I am so glad that I did. It led me to a group showing of Under Our Skin and from there I followed the super knowledge and experience of the listers.

I know now I'm on the right track.

Thanks to all who contribute and helped me.

Phil
