Well, I was the only one who posted last week, so I am not sure the interest is still there...
I will keep going with this for a few more weeks to see if it picks up a bit
I did accomplish getting myself back in the habit of meditating regularly and I think it is helping me immensely!

I have GOT to figure this out so I can join in!!
I need to go back and find the links you gave earlier. My printer isn't working, so I can't print out instructions.
I don't know how to breathe!!!!

23 minute breath awareness meditation today

I have been a "dabbler" of meditation practice for several years.
I have asthma and found meditation tough at the very beginning b/c too much focus on the breath made me just about hyperventillate.
BUT last year, during a visit to my Dad, attended a class with him that offerred a very, very simple yet very helpful tip:
Instead of feeling your breath in your abdomen and/or chest, concentrate on the sensory feeling you get as you pull air in through nostrils (and out, for me- always easier to do pranayama during exhale). Literally, focus on your nostrils! Sometimes I dampen the very edges of them if I am still having difficulty getting into the "zone". It allows more sensory input- you can "feel" the breath in and out better.
Sometimes I count and sometimes I say phrases ("soften", "I am OK", "rest, mind", sometimes prayer...whatever gets ya through what you need to get through at that given moment) or do visualizations.

I did my first attempt at meditation today. Did a breathing exercise for about 5 minutes.
Amazingly, 5 minutes was enough to make me relax and feel better!
Now I just need to keep this going!
