Getting rained out was a disappointment! I was hoping Carl Edwards might win it.
It would have been great for Mark Martin,Bill Elliott or one of the LaBonte' boys, too.
I think it was wrong Dale Jr got penilized for being 1 inch on the line in the pit box. He wasn't over it.

Oh no! We were out yesterday and my husband missed the race. But he has it recorded on DVR.
Please, don't tell me I have to listen to the voom voom tonight? Oh my.
I love sports, but not NASCAR. My husband went to his first race @ Bistol 08/08 and can't wait to go again this year. Thank goodness he has male buddies.

Those guys go TOO slow!!
I was watchin TV this morning and the big boys were stopped at the stop sign,,,then punched it and made it 1000' in just under 4 seconds
I looked for one that said Tincup on the outside where they put drivers names,,,I musta missed it cause you were going too fast!!!
From a standing start to 310mph in 1000 feet. Think they would have to 'peel' them outta the cars. Wonder what the G forces are inside there??
VROOM VROOM,,,make YOUR truck go that fast!!!

The race got called due to rain... prematurely in MY opinion... and Mark didn't win. Darn.

Oh yes! That is how I became a fan. Had a boyfriend with a street car which I got to drive to work and stuff years ago... and help work on. He raced and I was totally against it.
I complained it was stupid and dangerous, blah blah... and I'd never gone.
Then one night I went. I was allowed in the pits- something fun to do!
And...
OH MY GOODNESS!
It was so wild! The speed was incredible! The action, the .. well everything!
My "guy" went too fast and broke his own qualifying speed that night.. so was disqualified. Bummer!!!
And little miss "you can't do that".... well... I couldn't wait for the next race!!!
On my 27th birthday I had nothing special to do so I took my kid and walked 18 miles (round trip) to the local track just for fun.
We'd just completed hiking the A.T.... so 18 miles on flat ground was no big deal at all.
It was a fun night.
Then for years NO one I knew followed NASCAR... so I watched it when I could get the TV remote on a Sunday- rarely- and now that I can watch without interruption..
I am having fun!
But I do like the dirt tracks and the flat ones.
What a thrill!

We were actually in Orlando during Daytona.
We had my son at Disney World for his birthday.
Our hotel was crawling with college students who came in for the race (and to drink and party).
I'm not much of a race person. My nephew used to follow Nascar till Dale Sr was killed.
