I started a new job today, and I ran into a friend I knew before I got married.
Her brother-in-law is in forestry work, and he was diagnosed a while back with Lyme.
He was "treated" and "cured" at the time of infection.
Now he is having other issues that are "unrelated"--namely brain swelling.
The doctors can't figure out what's wrong.
I had talked to his brother about 2 months ago, and I told him then to get on his brother to see an LLMD.
Apparently he hasn't done that yet.
I told her of the hell I went through the past 9 months to get a dx, and I told her some of the things I've read on here about untreated and undertreated Lyme and co.
I'm still not sure I'm getting through.
It's so frustrating, because she is seeing firsthand that something isn't right with him and the doctors aren't helping.
But no one wants to take this seriously.
How sick is this man going to have to get before someone wises up and does what needs to be done????

Look up the job station where he works. See if there is an email address or call them on the phone.
Don't mention that person.. just say you are a volunteer and you'd like them (all) to have some Lyme disease information and send it there to them.
Not too long ago I stopped in a work station where I hadn't been in a long while (not headquarters) and they wanted EVERYTHING I had. They were SO pleased.
They sorted out one of each item I had for each employee and then put the rest on the top rack of their brochure rack as handouts.
These outdoor workers are NOT being told stuff (on purpose) from the top brass down... and are wanting it... and NEEDING it.
Think about it. If a place that hires outdoor workers gives them Lyme info... they will have a freaky bunch of employees because of it... will be forced to spray or provide protective measures for them, etc...
Or will have many sick people who WILL know what they have and which will cost the employer and Workers Comp insurance carrier LOTS of money.

absolutely right. i tried to give information to several people and gave up.
but outdoor people need it and now i think it's starting to get enough publicity that they are aware of.
i hope he gets some help. otherwise he's screwed.

Also tell them about ,a product called Repel. I use it on my hunting cloths. It has 35% permithrin in it. It works great for deer ticks ,kills em dead as dead can be. Make sure they follow the instructions ,it is wicked stuff. But I will not go into tick land without it. appleseed
