An amazing thing has happened to me! I have been taking yoga classes for a few weeks and I can not get enough!

Up until last fall when I had my big "crash" I studied ballet and also took Pilates and Stretch classes.

One of the saddest things about this disease was having to give up dance -- something that I loved more than I could ever explain.

Even though I feel weak and not like myself at all, I thought I would give Yoga a try since there is a small studio near my house.

And I love it! I go almost every day! [Cool]

After a couple of classes my muscles seemed to remember how to stretch and I think I am as flexible now as I was before I got sick.
This is such a wonderful experience!

Awesome Leelee! Keep it up. I can relate to how you felt about dance, I felt the same way about running. I miss it soooo much.

I actually crave for my body to move in that rythum.....My headache keeps me prisioner, not my body.

You keep it up!

feelfit, I am so sorry you are unable to run. Physical movement and exercise has always been one of my life's greatest joys.

I used to run too. I did the Marine Corps. Marathon about 10 or so years ago. I focused most of my energy on dance after that, but have never forgotten the pure pleasure of a nice, long, early morning run. All by myself, so free and healthy. It was joyous.

I hope some day you will be able to resume your passion. It breaks my heart this has been taken away from you.

I was shocked that I took such a strong liking to it. I think it is wonderful that you experienced the goodness of yoga too. [Smile]

Leelee that's awsome!!! I too fell in love with yoga after I became sick. It was something I could do even when I felt like crap.

It has helped me in so many ways. I felt like my illness improved once I started doing it on a regular basis. I also was a dancer (in high school) and part of yoga reminds me of dance.

I fell in love with yoga the first time I did it and it has been an addiction since. In fact when I get well enough I want to become a yoga teacher and teach classes for the chronically ill. Also, I would offer to come to people's homes if they are housebound. I think yoga has a lot to offer people who are chronically ill.

Good job!!!

Namaste

Piegirl,

You are an inspiration! How perfectly wonderful that you want to pass on the healing benefits of yoga to those that would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience it.

I admire you! [Smile]

Thanks! I just feel there really is a need in this area of yoga and I think people would benefit from having someone help them who has been in their shoes. I now just have to finish helping myself before I can move on to others. Some day though...some day.

Mary
