Why parents drink - this is brilliant

The boss wondered why one of his most valued employees was absent but had not phoned in sick one day. Needing to have an urgent problem with one of the main computers resolved, he dialled the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper. ' Hello ? '

'Is your daddy home?' he asked.

' Yes ,' whispered the small voice.
May I talk with him?'

The child whispered, ' No .'

Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, 'Is your Mummy there?' ' Yes '

'May I talk with her?' Again the small voice whispered, ' No '

Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked, 'Is anybody else there?'

' Yes , ' whispered the child, ' a policeman . '

Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, 'May I speak with the policeman?'

' No, he's busy , ' whispered the child.

'Busy doing what?'

' Talking to Daddy and Mummy and the Fireman , ' came the whispered answer.

Growing more worried as he heard a loud noise in the background through the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked, 'What is that noise?'

' A helicopter ' answered the whispering voice..

'What is going on there?' demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive. Again, whispering, the child answered,
' The search team just landed a helicopter '

Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, 'What are they searching for?'

Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle...
' ME . '

Sounds like something my niece did when she was little.

Seriously!

And my husband wonders why I want to hit the bars sometimes...

OMG, sounds exactly like something Cody would do.

When my niece was living with us, she decided to go walk in the woods when my back was turned for a minute; we had all that going on. Eventually she just wandered out of the woods back into the yard. It was terrifying.

This brought back a memory for my DH.

My brother-in-law was lost when he was about 3 yrs old. They had police, fire rescue and the neighborhood searching

when he crawled out of a sleeping bag left in the yard. The older kids had slept out under the stars and hadn't

brought the stuff in. They were playing hide-n-seek with Chris when he fell asleep [sleepy] in the bottom of the bag. He

was so little, the bag looked empty. [Smile]

Thanks BettyG, I didn't even think of putting it there. Done now!

Glad I could bring a smile or two.

It was too cute not to post.

Worries me a bit though with my son. He's pretty mischeivious (sp?)and I can totally see him doing something like this when he gets a little older.

I wll have to REALLY keep my eyes on him! [Smile]

Lol, we were at a street fair yesterday, and one of the churches had a stand with some lady doing a monkey puppet.

She saw my boys and brought the puppet out and had the puppet start singing, "You aren't related to the monkeys. And the monkeys aren't related to you."

(Okay, my kids are 5 and 2, so it meant nothing to them, and they just looked at her like she was looney).

Anyway, i said to her, "Obviously you don't know these boys, or you'd think they were half monkey the way they act!"

I got looks, let me tell you, lol.

I used to get away from my mom at the store and hide in carpet rolls, whatever, just to hear that there is a "little girl in a blue dress lost in the store"
