I'm looking into buying a juicer. Can anyone recommend a good quality one that isn't ridiculously expensive. I was looking at one at Wal Mart.. Jack LaLanne's power juicer. Looked pretty good but I didn't know if it was really a piece of crap.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

I recall doing a search on the web and reading a few books before I purchased my Champion Juicer in the late 90's.

(Got sick in 2001, and the home care person burnt it up by not taking care of it and oiling it)

At the time they did not recommend Jack Lalanne's juicer.

I can't recall the name of the other top juicer.

But, I did notice they had come out with a lot of different less expensive models since I was juicer shopping.

Ah ha! It was the Omega Juicer.

I copied and pasted the below from Mercola's web site:

It does not make any sense to purchase a good juicer if you are not going to use it. I normally recommend that you purchase an inexpensive or used juicer if you are starting out as a trial to see if juicing is for you.

You can actually get great deals at many garage sales. Like fitness equipment, many people buy juicers with good intentions, but wind up not using them.

Another option for an entry level juicer is the Braun MP80 Juice Extractor that can be ordered from Amazon.com for about $70. It is not a good option for daily juicing since the motor will burn out and it will have trouble juicing leafy green vegetables.

Hey there LymieLaura,

I bought a Juiceman Jr from Wal-Mart for my Florida home about 85-90 dollars and I love it.

I now have one for my Michigan home too. Easy clean up. You can put whole apples, lemons, ect. in it and it does the job.

If you decide that you really like juicing and can't live without it, there are top of the line juicers that you can consider then.

I swear by my juiceman Jr. though
