I hate to see winter come again this year. My skin is so dry that my hands actually crack and bleed. I don't think it matters how much hand lotion you put on they are still dry.

What do the rest of you who have this problem do for help?

I would try Shea Butter. It works really well for dry skin.

They make lotions that contain it. If it's super bad try to find 100% Shea butter.

You could also try Coco Butter.

I used to have extremely dry skin on my hands.
As soon as the weather turned colder, the skin was chapped, and I needed lotion everytime I washed my hands.

I thought I found the answer when I discovered lanolin.
You can buy a tube of it at the drugstore for a couple dollars.

Later I started taking Omega 3's, and the skin on my hands is now soft and conditioned.
I started with flax oil, and now use fish oil.

Get some pharmaceutical quality fish oil, and see how much your skin improves.

Shea butter and an infrared sauna. Works wonders.

In the winter, right before bed, I cover my hands with either shea butter or pure coconut oil, then put on cotton gloves. I do the same for my feet (except with socks).

It really helps.

Taking cod liver oil helps as well, and it is a good supplement anyway.

i do too; guilty of not working with it daily on trying to keep it moistened!

I have tried the shea butter and so many other types of lotion. I have decided that the lotions just are not the answer for me.

Can you tell me more about the Omega 3's you take and where you buy them.

Have you tried any of those "crack creams"? Ask for them at your local pharmacy.

I would also try the Omega 3's. My dry skin seemed to be better last winter while on Omega 3's. A good inexpensive one can be found at www.vitacost.com .. Carlson's

Carlson's Lemon Flavored fish oil is good.

Omega 3 Mood by Country Life is good...this is a less expensive version of OmegaBrite.

iHerb.com and vitaminshoppe.com have good prices.

a humidifier helps a lot also!!

I used to use some cream that was not mentioned above but was only one that worked for me. Had ad about fishermen using it. I cant remember the name, small tube, hefty price,,,but worked every time for ME!!
