Hoping you will add your random acts of kindness that you might see now and then....
The people who open doors for me when I am in my power chair...makes life so much more do able.
The mail person who saw me get out of my car with a letter and offered to take it in for me....whewp...I was wondering how I was going to walk from point A to point B. Wanted to get the letter in the mail and knew the outside boxes had all ready been picked up.
The people had Basha's who get someone at the service desk to call the tram to pick me up most of the time before I even ask.
The mechanic who checked my oil for me because my health was not up to checking it myself for months and then said no problem and come anytime.
The tram driver who automatically turns the radio off and the fans when I get on board as she knows that sounds make me worse.
The lady who dried my hair for me after water therapy. At that point, I wasn't even sure I had my scrubs on correctly...but then realized they were scrubs and it would be OK if they were inside out.
The guy with the 3 small poodles at the dog park who washed down all the plastic chairs (they really needed this...very yucky), put a new coat of paint on the fake fire hydrants and washed the blocks off at the entry way of the dog park.
For those people at the dog park who go around and pick up poop left behind by sometimes not so responsible dog owners...keeping the park clean and a pleasant place to visit.

What a great thread! I love random acts of kindness and I aspire to give them more often.
I was just leaving a large area grocery store
when I walked by a lady with a multi pack of
Kleenex. Lyme brained, as usual, I had intended
to get Kleenex but bought a number of other
things and promptly left without any. I saw the
woman's Kleenex in her cart as we left the store
and I commented "Oh, silly me! I knew I forgot
something. The Kleenex in your cart just jiggled
my memory. I forgot Kleenex." She handed me the
multi pack and told me she wanted me to have
them. I thanked her, but told her I would be
okay going back in and getting some now that I
remembered. She insisted that she wanted me to
have them. She said it made her feel good to
help someone.
Also, when I am in a grocery store the lights and
too many people around seem to bother me. It's
kind of a central nervous system thing. God Bless
those wonderful people who offer to let you go
in line in front of them. Out of the blue...no
request from me, yet glorious timing when you
feel rotten.

2 anonymous lymenet acts of kindness i've received this past year:
one sent me a microwave wrap to have around my neck/shoulders ... feels so good as i'm here typing and sending llmd info, welcome letter, and replying in general.
a recent one sent me the new UOS with all the extras in it and the book and bumper sticker; just received it and haven't had time to view it yet
both have been extra special acts of random kindness which took me by surprise
we've got super members here who reach out to others
my special niece called today and asked if we could take care of her 10 mo. old son who was cranky/crying while she shopped for clothes for him/her for their xmas photo tomorrow.
sure; we had him 2 hrs. and he was great; slept 30 minutes.
i taught him how to wave hi/bye, and he did it on his own without my promptly him!! great student ... lol
then she got back and in drove another niece and her 2 yr. old son who visited for over an hour.
we rarely have company; so an extra treat for hubby and me...

We have an elderly, limping woman who belongs to our church and walks to Sunday mass. Every week, someone will stop and give her a ride. It's never the same person - everyone knows her and she doesn't ask - they just stop and offer each week and she climbs in.

after dad lost his driver's license due to his macular degeneration, the area farmer/neighbors and 1 of our HS teachers organized something that each week somone would come and get him.
he so enjoyed that; would get his groceries after church, and treat some of them to a good meal at restaurant afterwards.
this brought back pleasant memories to me! he's been gone 8 yrs. already...

A friend of mine works in a small, hometown grocery store. A customer came in yesterday and asked her to make out 2- $25 gift certificates.
When she asked who to put in the "for" area, he told her to leave them blank and told her to give them to 2 families who could use them, and also deserved them. He figured that as she lived in town, she would know people well and who should get them.
There are truly kind people out there. He also did this anonomously.

I got to teach my 3 year old about RAOK yesterday at the doctor's office.
We were sitting there in the waiting room--only ones there--and an older lady with a walker came out.
I got up and held the doors for her so she wouldn't have to struggle with them.
Wayde asked, "Mommy, why you do dat?"
I told him it's nice when we do things for others, just like when someone does something for us.
Last summer, when we were kind of struggling, out of the blue someone sent us a $100 check.
I burst into tears right there on the driveway and hoped the family who sent it would be doubly blessed.
