A few days ago, out of the blue, a guy I've known a long while said to me....

"You have a better sense of smell than most women."

??????????????????????

Now.. I gotta ask.... HOW do you respond to that? HA!

Anyone else had any fun "compliments" lately?

PLEASE do share!

[lol]

What was your response?
I know it was a good one.

Recently, I saw a friend from high school (from many years ago).
He said "I thought about you the other day.
I saw a tick in my yard."

Ticks.....How's that for a claim to fame?

cbb said... "I thought about you the other day. I saw a tick in my yard."

Now that IS a bad one! HA!

I'm sorry though, I can't stop laughing!

Ya think that some folks just see us as a big tick approaching them?

HOPEFULLY you didn't just spend a fortune on a new outfit or having your hair done when he said that!

That would really suck!

[lol]

Oh.. my response?

Actually, I didn't have one! Yeah me! Lost for words! Can you imagine that?

LUCKILY, he kept talking as I stood there dumb faced thinking about what he had just said.

I was thinking to myself, NO I don't! I've been tested several times and have nerve damage that louses up my sense of smell.

GEEZE cbb. Now I feel even worse!

Me KNOWING that isn't true... but he didn't...

Well, do you think that was the ONLY compliment he could come up with?

If so...

Gotta keep your sense of humor when you have Lyme!

Like they say, "Keep laughing so you can keep from crying" or however they say it.

Don't be sorry for laughing.
I laugh every time I think about it.
And he was so serious when he said it.

[lol]

You have me laughing (thanks) and I just thought of another one!

I was at the chiropractors and he was working on me one day. We talk somewhat during the session... about family, holiday plans and local events, etc ... and that day he started the conversation with...

"You know, you remind me of my dog."

I'M SERIOUS! He did!

I TRIED to act "normal" but wasn't quite sure what "normal" was in a situation like that. I came up with a soft, "oh?" as my response.

He went on to say.. "My dog acts just like you do. He will be walking and he suddenly falls over or runs into a wall for no reason."

I KID YOU NOT! That is what he said!

[lol]

As it turns out... he wanted to know if I thought his dog could have neuro-Lyme and went on to explain all the details, etc.

But boy oh boy... was THAT a weird day or what?

[lol]

BTW- We put the dog on doxy just to see and in spite of the vet assuring him NO Lyme or TBD's ... he got better totally!

Now you've got me laughing.
I guess the two of us together would be a delightful sight.

Lucky for the dog, though.
I knew you'd helped untold numbers of people, but now you'll have to start a tally for dogs.

Great way to start the day.

That was fun!

I gave a poor compliment yesterday. I told a person who came over to visit that I can't be around most people but I could deal with her.

Not exactly what I wanted to say. Not sure how she took it.

She responded with perhaps it was because she doesn't need to talk a lot. So perhaps she did understand.

KAM... HA!

[lol]

I sure understand why/how that was suppose to sound... but I bet it made you pause and want to slap yourself.

Been there many times myself!

I guess she was not offended as she showed up this am to take Rosie out to toilet...not scheduled.

A nice surprise. But, my brain was out to lunch so couldn't talk with her. She understood.

TC - I used to have a little goffin cockatoo just like that. "Sugar" used to dance and 'sing'. She was hilarious!! [lol]

I was told the other day, "Wow, you sounded like a 50 year old woman on the phone. You actually look the same age as my 15 year old daughter."

This was in a professional meeting- and I am 24.

Wasn't sure whether to be offended because I sound old or offended/ pleased because I look so young!

Yeah, I had a 'compliment', or something like it a few months ago from MY BOSS! I thought he was acting funny, hanging around my desk and when everyone was out of the area, he said, "I thought about you this weekend". I got this puzzled look and said, "Why?". He said, "I took off my shoes after being the the park and there was a tick attached to my big toe".

GEE, NOT WHAT A GIRL REALLY WANTS TO HEAR.... [Roll Eyes] Ah well, better to be infamous than ignored, I guess.

I don't interact with people all that much, but, yesterday, I was told, despite my lyme brain:
"You are smart and intuitive .. and have a natural insight to a level I never encountered before".

Of course, coming from the source it was coming from, the motivation of the sentiment is in question (ingratiation).
No matter how true the statement [Smile] Actually, he just hangs out with a low E-IQ crowd, I guess.

Wish I could remember some funny ones. People say the oddest things.

Great about the chiropractor's dog, Tincup.
I've had a day chock full 'o wall-bumping today.
and rubber legs. Probably look more like someone's 13+ month-old who is learning how to walk.

22dreams. I like that one. Kind of funny. I have had someone say something similar to me also.

What they don't know is that with me it is just a flash in the pan for now.

Not a compliment, but a relative said to me one day......"You must be having a bad day, I can look at you and tell". The thing is I was actually having a good day for once.

I will try to think of some others.

You all are TOO funny!

[lol]

I'll read this all again tomorrow when I am hopefully more awake!

But you made me laugh tonight! Thanks for that!

OOPS! Got ANOTHER compliment today. November MUST be my lucky month!

Add to that November is the month when deer hunters are in full rut and have NO brains what-so-ever (you do not!)... and wouldn't notice me unless I had antlers ... and you get...

"You cooked the onions in the chile perfectly tonight. I can never get them so nice."

?????

I cook NICE onions? NICE onions?

GEE! If they ever have a contest for cooking NICE onions, I'll have to enter mine!

[lol]

I actually asked what did he mean by "nice" onions... I mean a girl doesn't always get "cool" compliments like THAT...

And he said they were "just right". Not cooked too much so they were soft and not hard and raw.

Yepper... they call me the Onion Queen.

HA!
