I'm not taking antibiotics right now, but with or without, you can't underestimate the power of binders. Been feeling very ill these days, told the psychiatrist I think I need to be in a hospital (non-psychiatric), and the psychiatrist prescribed me an insane amount of anxiety meds of the same class.

Yes, that's correct, Klonopin, Ativan, and Xanax to take at the same time. .5 mg 2x a day Klonopin, 2 mg of Ativan 2x a day and 1 mg in the afternoon, and 1 mg of Xanax as needed, and 2 mg if not responding after 1 hour. I think the idea is that since I don't respond well to the klonopin (rare, I know), just load me up with a crap load of short acting benzos. I've tried huge (as prescribed) dose of of curiousity, and I guess my nervous system is so stimulated, it doesn't even make me tired. In fact, the higher amount didn't touch the horrible feeling that I need to be hospitalized.

Before I was getting worse, I was using binders. Whey protein with 1000 mg of L-Glutamine and loads of important amino acids, NAC, Milk Thistle, and New Chapter Antioxidant blend. Every couple of days, I would have Garden of Life "Perfect Food." It looks and tastes like sewage, and isn't my favorite supplement for that reason. I temporarily stopped them because I was constipated for a few days.

So, I went back on the binders today, and like magic, the feelings left. For the first couple hours, it made my GI go insane, but after that, the anxious feelings, or whatever they are, were completely gone. When I got home after a short outing, I had the most toxic smelling feet imaginable. Coincidence? My heart rate is 80 even when standing, which is much more comfortable than the 100+ it's been the past few days. Blood pressure is still a little crazy, and is not correlating to how I feel.

I have found out that for whatever reason, I lack the ability to sweat. I have been exercise intolerant, and haven't sweated in over a year. In a sauna, the most sweat I had was a couple drops from my forehead.

I theorize that my detox pathways don't work efficiently, but these supplements help my body create the Glutathione it needs to get rid of the toxins. If I knew about this stuff before I started treatment, maybe I wouldn't have failed so quickly. I wish my LLMD was more educated in controlling the toxic die off. I wasn't taking any binders really.

This experience just reinforces in my mind that our medical system (especially mental health), is really screwed up. It's sad, and I don't see why others are so blinded. We have reached a dead end, and I wonder if more doctors are going to start taking an alternative route. I am not against pharmaceuticals, I am against the way most MDs use them. Unfortunately, I don't see prescription nation making much of a change anytime soon.

I'm really curious if acetyl-glutathione would be even superior NAC. I would order it, but $75 is a lot. [Frown]
