I think Lyme is much more likely to disorient you and make you crash then a pain medication.
Maybe this is a bias I have since my driving is impaired. In my experience, Lyme Disease can impair your ability to operate a motor vehicle like alcohol can! In fact, before I got Lyme Disease, I'm sure I would be better driving drunk.
That being said, I will still drive short distances ocassionally. I'm sure if I crashed and died police would blame in on anxiety medications.

I can remember times driving that I didn't have any business being behind wheel of car. I was always very cautious and wouldn't go very far without my husband.
I wouldn't drive at night for sometime because my brain fog would be even worse. The lights hitting my eyes would increase my neuro sx.
Even 10 yrs later I still have more troubles at night. I don't trust my vision looking over my right shoulder? Sometimes my head just refuses to turn in that direction?
Anyone else?
Everyone reacts differently to pain meds. Maybe this young lady wasn't alert enough to be at the wheel?
My heart is so heavy just thinking of her family.

I have gotten disoriented and lost even on weeks I am not taking my pain killers. If she had a bad case of lyme it could easily cause her to be a somewhat confused and possibly very tired. I know I am thankful to have made it home alive after some of my drives home while I was still working. Now I keep myself to short drives on days when I feel my head is clear. I feel very sorry for the family and all the pain they must be going through.

How sad, may not have been the pain medication and she really should not have driven (it says on the bottle to take care when operating vehicles?) - but maybe the LYME made her more disoriented. My heart goes out to the family and her friends - so young and beautiful - what a terrible loss.
