This is more of an update than a question, any feedback or comments are welcome.

I've been treating Lyme/Bart for over a year with slow but steady improvement and a lot of Herxing.

For the last couple of weeks, I've paused or reduced all of my abx while I tackle some professional issues.

Laying off the meds, I've noticed a steady improvement in how I feel. I've never been good at rating my level of functining, but I'd say I'm at about a 70% of ideal for maybe 6-7 hours of the day before I decline.

Stamina, aches/pain, and later in the day neuro symptoms are the biggest concerns, but I actually feel well enough to work for parts of the day without my symptoms interfering or distracting me.

I don't feel well enough that I would consider stopping treatment for good at this time. But it is reassuring to me how well I can feel during this planned break.

The last time I took a treatment break was around July and I did not fare nearly this well. I'm taking my current success on less meds as a positive sign that I am improving. I am glad I am at a stage where I can adjust my treatment as needed to allow for bursts of productivity.

I hope to resume full treatment in early Feb.

I've had a similar experiences. Been off abx since July. Felt better (85%) for a month or two then back to where I was when on on them (60-70%). Now, after 6mos. I can feel old stuff creeping back. Going back on abx next week.

I think it's good to take a break from time to time to see what's real and what's not. Clearing the abx and any herx feelings gave a a good barometer of progress.

Keep at it.

Wonko,

that is good news...half of this battle is knowing what you are doing is working....sounds like that's the case....enjoy this break and get ready to fight the fight.
