I've been in medical situations, twice, where I was asked if I wanted to "stay longer", in the hospital or if I "wanted to go to the hospital?".

Both times, I said "No". The wording and mannerism seemed off to me, both times.

I called my insurance and asked what was up with that. Seems some insurance will not pay for observational hospitalization.

I don't know if it was for observation, or what, but I was advised to "ask if it was medically necessary". Just a heads up.

Yeah, we have to be careful since we don't always know what they are REALLY asking!!!!

They WILL pay for "observation" if you have heart problems. But I'm not sure it's called that. They send you to "telemetry" where your heart is monitored overnight.

I try and avoid hospitals if at all possible.
