Hi all!

I'm back after being gone for about 2 weeks. We moved across the country to CA.

Luckily, I had a lot of help, and didn't have to do too much of the actual "work," except finding a decent place to live, which I had family members helping me with. (since when I am tired, I am way too spacey to drive).

Anyways, the good news is.....we love it here! I love the weather. This place has exceeded my expectations, in terms of the people and the overall feeling. People are very down-to-earth and friendly. I feel like we will fit in.

Now I just need to get to feeling better, so I can enjoy this phase of my life!

Also, I really missed you guys over the past couple weeks. It feels good to be back here on Lymenet, being around such lively and interesting people, having people value my opinion, and benefitting from all the GREAT advice and knowledgable people here! (when I was asking electrical questions last week, people were SUPER helpful...it blew me away).

Good to see you again!! I didn't know you moved to CA!! It sounds like you're going to like it there!!

Did you husband find a new job already??

I just posted some stuff on six's thread. Guess I should have posted it here, haha!

Well, the whole reason we moved to CA was that my husband ended up getting a job out here. When we moved from IN to NC, it was because he graduated and didn't get a job, so he worked for my parents in NC.....but then just a month after moving to NC, he found out he got this job in CA.

There is no way we would be able to afford living out here if he didn't already find something. He started his job today, and actually had to fly out-of-town. I think he is going to like his job a lot! [Smile] [Smile] He won't have to travel much, but right now he's gone. I am on my own for the next 4 days, so it's good I have the internet or I would go nuts.

Thanks kam and joalo!

We moved to Southern California...Santa Monica. We are close to the border with Venice.

There are a lot of people here....people everywhere, cars everywhere, etc. So I can see how that would drive some people nuts.

I like living close to the water because it isn't as hot and we seem to get fresh breezes. The areas further inland seemed a lot hotter.

Our street is quiet, so that is enough for me. After living in a college town in IN, I am used to being around annoying college students (the ones that seem to booze everynight of the week). [Smile] So the people here actually seem pretty laid back to me.

I have been to the SF Bay area, and that area is very nice as well. I grew up in a beach town in Florida, so I am used to the beach culture you find in the coastal towns of SoCal, and I enjoy it. It reminds me of when I was a kid.

You will always get some questionable characters on the beach....it attracts drifters and those types. But aside from that, everyone else is just very laid back and real, and I like that. And for me, there is no such thing as too much sunshine! [Smile]
