Our God is worthy of trust!!!!

Proverbs 3:5-6 (New International Version)

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight (Or will direct your paths)."

I have been trying to read proverbs daily. I understand maybe one or two in a chapter then I lose it and skip around because I don't get it!
I have to move on to the next one or two or three and sometimes four!!! before I understand another one. FRUSTRATING ME...ho-hum.

Good morning friends! [group hug]

MDW,

You are doing great! I haven't even attempted to read Proverbs, so you are way ahead of me. [dizzy]

Have a fantastic God-filled day everyone!!

2 Corinthians 1:2-4 (NIV)

2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

Hey All,

Just a quick [hi]

Great verses!!! Yeah, yeah, as you can guess; those verses ya'll shared are some of my favorites-of course!!!!!

About Proverbs...through the years I've tried to read one a day, matching the chapter with the date (like today Proverbs 21 for July 21).

I've not always understood them (especially when I started reading them years ago). As I catch the meanings more and more they are full of such wisdom--exactly what I need! [Big Grin] Wisdom from God!!!!

We arrive home late Sunday. Will be back on "God Thought" as I can.

You all bless my socks off, I mean, bless my soul so much!!! [Big Grin]

Rhonda

A big [hi] to you daisy!

Good to see you were able to pop in and make us smile! [Smile]

And a great big good morning to everyone! [hi]

daisy mentioned wisdom from God, so here is a scripture regarding wisdom....

Proverbs 3:13 (New American Standard Bible)

13How blessed is the man who finds wisdom
And the man who gains understanding.

Wisdom comes with age and experience, and from a deeper understanding of God's word.

Hi friends,

How about this one Dekrator:

Proverbs 22:17-18
Incline your ear, and hear the words
of the wise, and apply your heart to my knowledge, for it will be pleasant if you
keep them within you, if all of them
are ready on your lips.

I was doing really good at understanding until I came to the part that says:
If all of them are ready on your lips???

Hope you are having a wonderful day.

PS... And yes I read the whole scriptures of words of the wise, and still do not get that part...daisy [Smile]

MDW,

That's a good one and makes one think a little!

I'm thinking that maybe "if all of them are ready on your lips" might mean to always speak wisely and keep in mind what God teaches us when we speak.

Just my guess. [dizzy]

Maybe someone else will have a different view.

I am having a quiet day.

Hope you are doing well.

By golly I found it!! it was driving me crazy. I have been working on this for over an hour:
Proverbs 22:18...

If the teachings are preserved in the heart/mind of the disciple, then that individual will always be ready to speak what was retained.

MDW,

Isn't it funny how it makes so much sense when you get a good explanation? [bonk]

Good morning friends!

MDW,

I enjoyed reading that...contains a very good message! [Smile]

I wish I could learn not to be troubled and worry.

Here's another similar scripture from John:

John 14:27 (New American Standard Bible)

27 "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

Hi Dekrator,
Cheer up! Pick your chin up off the floor and SMILE [Smile] [Big Grin] You have a great day. Don't let it beat you down!

When we keep our eyes focused on God, we remember his love for us and we realize we truly have nothing to worry about. God has a wonderful plan for our lives, and part of that plan includes taking care of us. Even in the difficult times, when it seems like God doesn't care, we can put our trust in the Lord and focus on his kingdom. God will take care of our every need.

Proverbs 12:25
Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up. (NLT)

I'm starting to like proverbs.

Thanks MDW!! [group hug]

Very wise proverb.

Prayers are needed for joalo's husband.

I saw on another post that she said his cancer is back and he is dealing with chemo again.

A bone marrow transplant is scheduled for next month.

Big hugs and lots of prayers going out for joalo and her husband.

Guess what??? I put an inquiry in for volunteer work at a community charity, one town over from me. I got a response back via e-mail.
I start Aug 2nd, 5pm-8pm Mondays and Fridays.
Then when school begins on the 23rd for the boys
I will pick up morning shifts and more days.

I finally get to start my passion of helping the poor. And guess what.... I also will be loading "trucks" with food, clothing and bedding.

I am so excited for the begining of a new life with God. Yea, I'm Happy.

I'm praying for joalo and husband, Dekrator.
Thanks for letting me know.

MDW,

Good for you!!!!!!!! [woohoo]

I bet that will be very rewarding for you, and you will be doing God's work!! [group hug]

Aww, yes, I remember the "trucks"!

I am very proud of you for following your passion and being so loving and giving!!

I'll be anxious to hear about it after you start.

Proverbs 14:31 (New International Version)

31 He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker,
but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.

Diane,

Absolutely!!! Hope you get some relief soon.

Lord,

Please lift up Diane and touch her with your healing hands.

Please relieve her pain and show her comfort.

Let her feel healing especially in her head, face and ears.

Lord, be with Diane at all times as she struggles with illness.

I pray this in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Hi God Thought friends!

It's a busy day here, but thought I would post this scripture:

Psalm 29:11 (NIV)

11 The LORD gives strength to his people;
the LORD blesses his people with peace.

I hope everyone has a peaceful and blessed day!

Hi,

Dekrator.... Thanks, I am having a tranquil and blessed day.

I enjoy this version also of
Psalms 29:10-11...

Above the floodwaters is God's throne
from which his powers flow,
from which He rules the world.
God makes his people strong.
God gives his people peace.

Hi friends,

dekrator... What did you learn today in Mass?

I learned Luke 11:1-13. How to pray [Smile]
One of my favorite parts in the gospel today was..
Ask,and it will be given to you;
search, and you will find; knock, and
the door will open for you.
For EVERYONE who asks recieves, and EVERYONE
who searches finds, and for EVERYONE who knocks, the door will be open.

Pretty awesome I must say!!
Hope you are all having a great Lord's day.

Diane

Hi MDW,

We learned the same thing as you today! [woohoo]

The sermon was about how when we pray to God asking for help with something, we must do our part, not just wait for God to do it all for us.

ie: Doing everything one can to make the prayer request a reality....such as forgiving another person, making the first move to talk to an estranged friend/family member, helping someone, etc.

I think he was talking to me. [Wink]

It WAS awesome, Diane and so relevant to our daily lives.

I am grilling for a picnic with our little grandsons. It is raining so maybe no swimming today.

Have an AWESOME day!!

[group hug]

Yes!, same thing. Also how we pray and don't want to hear or ready for His answers and what He wants us to do.
It's easy to say a prayer, but much more difficult to listen to Him when He has answered.

I had my ears open today...lol

Hi All,

Hope you don't mind me joining in your conversation. I was reading where it is hard to understand Proverbs. There is a site called Bible.com and under Daily Devotional is a Proverb Daily Devotional and I have found this to be a wonderful resource. Maybe you will think so too!!

Good Morning "God Thought" friends!

Let's continue on this thread until our very busy friend....aka daisy....has time to start a new week's post.

1 John 5:20 (New American Standard Bible)

Isaiah 55:10-11 (New International Version)

As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
