I've been thinking a lot about the power of our minds,

I believe that this is why Paul wants us to focus on the positive things in life.. the uplifting

When I start spending too much time on "Lyme Disease"... I lose perspective and forget all the many blessings in my life.

I narrow my world... instead of remembering all the many glories of God and the beauty in this world.

SO thanks Daisyrib, for this lovely verse. I am going to memorize it, and carry it in my heart.

sjo, You are so right...Our minds have an amazing influence on us (body, mind, and spirit too).

Thanks for reminding us to count our blessings. That always is great for a Goditude adjustment.

The verses I shared above, Philippians 4:8-9, are two of my favorite...several years ago (after my younger sister died unexpectedly of a heart attack) that verse was such a comfort to me and helped my focus on the positive instead of the dark hole I was feeling drawn to fall into. God's word is true and such a help in our times of need!

Pray things are going well.

"For I know the plans I have for you,'' declares the LORD, ``plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:11-13).

Those verses are beautiful. Just imagine, God REALLY DOES have great plans for us and on top of that He wants a relationship with us. [Big Grin] That's sooooo cool!!!! even great!!!!

Last week I shared that a dear family friend had died (terrible circumstances...) and we were going to the funeral.

Well, I wanted to share the poem that was on the little memorial card they give you at funerals. It really touched me.

God hath not promised

joy without sorrow,
peace without pain.

strength for the day,

daisyrlb and sjo ~ You are sooo right about the power of our minds. Our minds do have an amazing influence on us (body, mind, and spirit too). It is about healing the whole body. On so many different levels.

It is when we realize this that we begin to unblock ourselves and enable true healing.

I have found that there is so much more power in gratitude. When we engulf ourselves in this disease and all the negative that comes with it we attract more sorrow and pain.

We need to focus on other things. Read an inspiring book about something other than Lyme. Stop obsessing over it. I know it may be hard when you have pain. I have pain right now. I refuse to let it stand in the way of my Love.

After all Love is everything. That Love comes from our God.

Be careful what you think, our thoughts become things!

I am reading "The Book of Confidence" by Father Thomas de Saint-Laurent.

daisy, the scripture that you posted above...

This is off topic friends, but I wanted to tell you it did this Mother's heart good to hear about this yesterday...

My son, Andrew, is in Iraq. He met country singer Trace Adkins yesterday. I saw a picture of my son and 4 other soldiers with Trace.

It is so nice when entertainers take time out to visit the troops.

It is very good for morale.

I know my son was excited about it. He said another band is coming in about a month.

It can be especially hard for the soldiers as the holidays approach.

hi all! I appreciate all the inspiration i find here. God is in control.He is on the throne. so whatever comes my way i have to learn to be grateful for. like job. sometimes it is very hard but God says to "lean not on our own understanding..." We have to praise Him in sickness and health for He does have aplan for all of us.

Thank you for helping me remember this.

It was a blessing to read your posts...I'll be back...but for now two things,

1) I updated GWB's Hansa Center thread yesterday.

2) (And most important!) My daughter-in-love is on the way to the hospital to be induced for labor. Our granddaughter will be born today. Please keep mommy and baby in your prayers. Thank you so much!

Daisy...praying that all has gone/going well with the birth of your granddaughter and your daughter-in-love is doing well.

Dear Friends,

I just got home a little bit ago...

Thank you for your prayers. There were some "tense" moments for our precious daughter-in-love and grandbaby...we thank God so much that everything was ok.

Estella Hart was born at 6:15 PM. Weighed 7 lbs 13 oz and 21" long. Healthy and beautiful!

Again, thank you for your prayers.

Look forward to sharing on God Thought tomorrow.

Dekrator, good morning to you.
Very nice song I hear often on the radio. My daughter stopped by this morning and we chatted for a bit. She was boosting me for the Sunday event.
Dekrator I have only one line to say... "I present Stefanie to receive the Sacrament of Baptism".... I will screw it up! I keep telling myself this is not about me it is about my Stefanie.
When the boys were baptized a couple years ago...I could not remember what to say...I got so scared standing before all these people, but there was more to say then. My daughter giving me the pep talk...what does that tell you?...I am a chicken...bawk

Well you know me...I can not seem to come to this sight without a guestion....Dekrator, what does it me mean when someone says "win the race?"

I understand...I get really nervous if I have to talk in front of people, so if I were you, I would simply write the sentence you have to say on a small piece of paper and carry it discreetly up front with you.

If you forget what to say, just read it...no big deal. You will do fine!! Just focus on how wonderful it is for Stefanie to be baptized...and remember that you CAN do anything through Christ who strengthens you.

So sweet..your daughter giving you a pep talk! She is excited about her new life!!

You ask, what does it me mean when someone says "win the race?"

To me (and others may have different opinions), it means when a person makes it to Heaven to spend eternity with Our Heavenly Father.

fluttery, What a great word on "true healing" body, mind, and spirit--hear, hear and AMEN! WOW, what you share, "I have pain right now. I refuse to let it stand in the way of my Love" that's powerful!

Your other comment, "Be careful what you think, our thoughts become things!" reminds me...today I listened to a seminar online that Dr. J gave this week at the Hansa Center. It was very interesting (talking about that subject of "thinking"...it was titled, "Addictions of the Heart") and I thought, "Very important what we "heart for", we probably will get it." So true!

Our earthy race finished. Finished! We've won! And guess what???!!!! We're all winners...we're all first place winners in this race!!!!

Friends, my heart (like Dekrator's) is exploding with joy too. What a great week it has been and we still have the weekend to go...with lots of joyful activities going on.

Just to give you an update...we saw Estella again today. Estella has more hair than my boys had when they were a year old. Ha. She and mommy are doing very well.

Good afternoon God Friends,

I went to baptism practice this morning and there will be eight children and three adults for Sundays baptism service. Pretty awesome.
I have more than one line to say...surprised, not really. God is playing a joke on me...Paster Rob placed me as the first to speak.

Friends I could sure use a prayer, I do not ask often but if you have a little space left in you thoughts I would appreciate. I have been down in spirit with pain and finding it very difficult to see past the pain these days. I am sorry. I do not like being weak. I need to find a smile for my daughter. this is a very special day for her. The pain is just beating me down. Please?

I do have a guestion, I wrote it yesterday but because I was embarrassed not knowing the answer, I deleted it. So one more time I will write my guestion...

I received a paper yesterday in the mail for Life Way christian store. There is a book for children on "advent." I looked this word up in the dictionary and it says...coming; arrival. Church season before Christmas.

I can picture cute little Estella with a big head full of hair! My daughter was like that when she was born...I had to cut her bangs at the age of 6 weeks.

I believe the advent is the few weeks before Christmas when we are waiting for the coming or arrival of the birth of Christ.

Some churches have an advent wreath w/ 4 candles. I think 3 are pink for the first 3 weeks of december and then the white one is for the week of Christmas.

They light one pink candle the first Sunday in December, 2 pink candles the second Sunday, 3 pink candles the 3rd Sunday and all 3 pink candles and the white candle on the last Sunday, the week of Christmas.

It's a reminder, a tradition.

My mom always gave us kids advent calendars, which was a stand-up calendar w/ a picture of a Christmas scene (secular or religious) w/ little square "windows" all over it. The windows were numbered 1-24, so on the 5th of december for example, we'd open the "window" that had a 5 on it.

Now they have them w/ little treats or surprises inside the windows, so each day in December the kids race downstairs to get their sweet fix.

Advent might have a biblical meaning too, don't remember. But it's a word for the season of Christmas, the time looking forward to the coming of Christmas and to the birth of Christ.

I never heared that song "You Are," I do not understand why these songs put tears and lumps in my throat but they do.

Dekrator.... you say "I understand your feelings of being beaten down with pain." Dear friend I will pray for you also. When I pray for other people...well, hmmm.. how should I say, ok.. well it makes my heart feel good. and it also helps me not focuss on me feeling rough around the edges. How is that? Thank you dear friend for praying for me. I only need a smile prayer.

Hens.... You can put your nose in any time you like. My guestions are for anyone to answer, and there are times when I have a couple different answers for the same guestion...I like that alot.
The calendar you speak of... I have one with a mouse,and he is placed every day in a pocket. I thought it was for the children to know how many days till Santa came. What are the candles for? just as a reminder? hmmm?

I will probably go next weekend to the mountains. There is a Christmas store I would like to go to in Elijay.. a German town with the cottage scenery...so beautiful there. Anyway I want to find that special Nitivity(I know I spelled wrong!..Dekrator that word is somewhere on another page.)scene.

Hens, I was touched watching Jason Castro's YouTube video "I Am Second". Thank you for sharing the link. Thought provoking...WOW!

MDM, Tomorrow is the big day for you and your family. I am praying for you, God-Friend. Tomorrow will be a special day and everything will be beautiful. May the peace of God guard your heart and mind. (And In the "natural", if you can, take a detox bath....that always helps me.)

The word "Advent" just means "coming"...and hens shared so beautifully the application for the Christmas season for Believers. Appreciate you, hens, as I said before...you are our God Thought Thread Professor. I was blessed by reading your posts and always look forward to reading them.

There is also the Second Advent...that is what we, as Believers, are looking forward to one day...the Second Coming of Jesus. (Perhaps that opened up more questions...yikes. Smile).

Often when celebrating the First Advent/First Coming of Christ being born as a baby....there is talk about and scriptures shared remembering the Second Coming...and how we look forward to Jesus coming again.

Music does touch us humans deeply. I think God-Songs are especially touching because we were made for God. MADE FOR GOD! Everything within us longs for Him (that's why people are always searching for something to satisfy...until they meet and fall in love with the One who created them.)

Anyway, since we are MADE FOR HIM, and made in His image...we have emotions...like He has. When we listen to God-Songs we may smile, or laugh, or cry, or tear, or dance, or shout, or be still, or so many other God-Emotions...as our whole being responds to God's wooing and drawing us to Himself...and we can actually sense His presence.

Although God is always with us...when we actually sense His presence...we can't help but be moved!

My dear God Friends,

WOW!!! I feel so deeply overwelmed with emotions today.
My daughter and several others were baptized today. I have tears of joy and a smile a mile long.
I praise my Lord with all my heart and soul. I do not want this feeling inside me to ever go away. I cannot even begin to tell you how I feel inside. A deep love. My soul wants and needs more. Can this day last longer?

These emotions have pushed my pain away for awhile.
Dekrator, your song Holy made me want to praise our Father even more. I have a high today.

Dekrator... Thank you so much. I feel like my friends here were a big part of this special day with me. I thought about all of you often through out the day. This made it even more special for me.

My daughter left to go home this evening and was pulled over by the police for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. Stefanie does not have a license to drive and she has an outstanding warrant. My daughter is going back to jail, and my glass of wine went to my brain. I have not had a drink in over a year. I think I will finish that bottle now. Why do I continue to be tormented????

I am sorry that your beautiful day is ending this way.

She will have time to think. She will have time to talk to God.

Sometimes bad things like this happen for a reason....like God is telling her not to do this again because she could really hurt herself or someone else.

There is a lesson in everything...good and bad.

Remember all that joy and hope you felt earlier today? It's still there....God is right there beside you both.

Dear Dekrator,

Thank you for the voice that goes with your words. You have a beautiful, soothing, loving voice. I hope you do not mind me telling God Thought friends what a wonderful soul you have. You are truely a dear friend to me. You almost made me cry when I heared your voice...I found it very difficult to hold down my tears.

It is so easy for me to sit behind my computer and write a few lines of positive thinking than it is to act upon the words I write. Yes I am guilty of that. Once the words are written I need to mold them into my day of living, and this I find can be difficult many a day.

Everyone here has beautiful input an living with the Lord in there life and hearts. This I must learn everyday; to reach out a hand to help another of God's people and not just write an empty word...umm... to not become so self absorbed in my own pain and sorrows that it blinds me from what God wants me to do today.
I am becoming stronger...a strength I did not know could exist....You know that Lord of ours...He just doesn't leave me alone and I like..alot.

You say..."Go ahead and cry, it's ok."
I am afraid to cry, if I cry I fear I may not stop. I grew up learning that cry was a weakness of the spirit...hold back the pain and hide it under my bed...smile and laugh so no one sees my weakness to harm me more. I will cry my friend...one day and more than a few drops.... just not today. I hope you understand and I hope I can understand one day...that it is ok

In our daily life, when we feel our burdens weighing us down, God is the One and Only who can truly lift us up.

Do anything and everything you need to do, each day, to inspire you and get you through.

I have recently found that listening to Christian music, listening to Father Corapi and other pastors on tv, coming to God Thought, praying, and reading scripture and inspirational books are the best way for me to get through life's trials.

I find if I fill my day with as much of God's inspiration as I possibly can, then I do better.

I am certainly no better than you or anyone else, MDW.

I have been at some very low points. My family is broken and some day I hope that my family is healed.

I am holding onto faith, that through God all things are possible.

My dear friend...you will make it too, and so will Stefanie...through the love of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Dear friend Dekrator, that is a nice song thanks for sharing. You say..."know that God is right there with you." I have been reminding myself this all morning....He is quiet today.

I have been reading much this morning and came across a... hmmm?..I cannot remember what it's called in tne bible, anyway I will write and maybe someone can explain what it means....

Mark 4:28-29
The earth produces by itself,first the blade, then the ear,then the full grain in the ear. But when the grain is ripe, at once he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.

and... what is a mustard seed??
I might live in Ga. but I do not know a thing about farming.

It sounds to me as if the blade (first shoots of a plant) and the ear (where the corn cob grows) and the full grain in the ear (full cob of corn) is talking about a plant.

Although I don't know if corn was grown in that area then. Maybe a stalk of grain (wheat?) is more likely.

I believe a mustard seed is the smallest seed, as seeds go.

Matthew 17:20
He replied, ``Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, `Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.''

Many days I feel like all I can muster (no pun intended) is mustard seed faith. But God says, that's all it takes. That's very comforting to me right now.

Sure, let me get my Bible...I'll look at the explanatory notes on the bottom of the page.

OK, for Mark 4:30-32, it says,

"Jesus used this parable to explain that although Christianity had very small beginnings, it would grow into a worldwide community of believers.

When you feel alone in your stand for Christ, realize that God is building a worldwide kingdom.

He has faithful followers in every part of the world, and your faith, no matter how small, can join with that of others to accomplish great things."

For much of the time, Jesus spoke in parables which I find very hard to understand. Just give it to me straight!

I was so glad when I read that before he descended into heaven, he told his disciples that the Holy Spirit would be with them and would no longer speak to them in parables but speak clearly instead.

Hurray! My simple brain is happy!!

I have a Life Application Bible, New International Version.

We love it! I bet it's almost 30 years old with pages falling out all over the place, but we've never replaced it - priceless! [Smile]

OK, the explanatory notes for Mark 4: 26-29 say,

"This parable about the kingdom of God, recorded only by Mark, reveals that spiritual growth is a continual, gradual process that is finally consummated in a harvest of spiritual maturity.

We can understand the process of spiritual growth by comparing it to the slow but certain growth of a plant."

Get the Bible, don't stop the questions!

Hens, that is so awesome. I need to get one of these bibles for me and my Stefanie. I could actually get through the bible in a year and possibly understand it. Wow. We shall see, because I really enjoy making my brain have to work and keep the cob webs wiped off the brain cells.

MDW, the explanatory notes are on the bottom 1/4 or 1/5 of each page, so I can easily read the words of the Bible, from verse to verse, without ever looking at the notes. They don't break anything up and are there for me only if I want them to be. Kinda like bifocals [Smile]

I stepped outside to check on the boys. I got the biggest smile on my face...I have a rose bush, well actually it's a rose twig, been ran over so many times by the kids, LOL. Anyway here it is Nov. and I had a frozen bud for days now...guess what..yeah that bud turned into the most beautiful rose I ever saw, pretty peach in color and the smell.. oh my gosh powerful scent.
75 degrees here today.

I can picture the beautiful rose!

The frozen bud on the rose "twig" (lol) turning into the most beautiful peach colored rose with the powerful scent could be a metaphor for many things in our lives.

I think it wasn't an accident that it bloomed for you.

We are having nice weather here also for November...60 degrees for a few days.

Good Morning on this Veterans Day,

I am overwhelmed with thanksgiving to our Veterans, to all who serve and have served for our great nation. God bless each one and God bless the USA.

So...I come to God Thought...I was surprised to see 66 posts!!! It is good to be back friends, and I was so blessed reading all of the new comments since I was here last.

I have tears in my eyes just sensing the love! Each comment, each song...WOW!!! You all minister to me.

Dekrator, Thank you for sharing with us about Andrew so that we have the privilege of praying for him. That was very touching reading that he was only 16 when 9/11 happened and that he knew what he wanted to do. God bless and protect Andrew and bring him home safely to his family and friends.

As I've read your posts this is the verse that comes to my mind, "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10).

No matter what is happening around us, in us, to us...we can just be still and realize/know without a doubt that our God is God indeed! He will always get the last word. BTW, He got the first Word too! [Big Grin] [bow]

GWB and me are so blessed by the newest little member of our family. Estella is doing great. She changes day by day. What a precious sweetheart.

Dekrator, (one more thing) about you having to cut your daughter's bangs at six weeks of age, I would never have thought that possible...but it is! Estella has beautiful, thick hair. More hair than my boys at one year (or maybe two years!) old. [Big Grin]
