Dearest Tricia,

Might you go ahead and cry, cleanse the soul it does, I hear. When you are all cried out, then might you see that there are blessings in everyday you make it through the fight. Make you smile I hope. Yes, you are twenty-five, and soon you will have more and more joy in your life. Look for the positive before your day slips away, because you might en miss out on the day you were given. No giving up...you hear!

It does get better. Do you have a church you have attended? Some churches have people that are trained to come and help.

Please hold on to the hope -it does get better.

I will continue to pray for you. Try to reach out to someone today, sometimes I have found I have to make the first step.

Hi Tricia,

It sounds like you're having a hard time coping with life stricken with Lyme. Do you have a support system in place? Friends/family/church, etc?

As I said in your previous post that there is NO GOOD TIME or GOOD AGE to get Lyme. It impacts us all aspects of our lives. So take comfort in the fact that we are all in the same boat. You feel like it robs you of the best time of your life where you should be out having a great times w/ friends. I feel like it's robbing me of the small window in which I could be having another baby.

I am sad, but I REFUSE to let Lyme and Co be the focal point of my life! I am going to borrow my husband's favorite quote.

"Your focus DETERMINES your reality". The more you focus on it and how unfair it is the more power you're giving it and the worse you will feel emotionally! It's fine to have a pity party once in a while but if you can't shake it then you really need some professional help. The number one cause of death for Lyme disease is suicide. Don't go it alone, get some help!

As far as getting back to pre-Lyme state, some people do and some don't and some continue the battle for YEARS! There are no guarantees in life. Since I have been sick the 2.5 years we have lost 4 friends/family who were all in perfectly good health!! In fact, my daughter's Pediatrician went to work last week passed out and died later that night from a brain aneurysm! She was bare 50, fit, healthy and a wonderful Doctor!

So the reminder here is live each moment as if it's your last even with Lyme. I love this other quote...

"You can't chose when or how you're going to die, but you can chose how you going to live". So live it well, Lyme and all!!

OK. Sending my imaginary limo over to help you run away.

Where would you like to go??

Omg, I would love to go to Cali, or Hawaii or back to Europe... Or can we make it at it a time machine and make it go back to before I had lyme

Hello,
It will get better. Try to pick a mantra or a quote and say it each time you feel like negativity is coming you way. A LLMD once told me that our Lyme mind is like a deck of cards, one side is a massive stack(negatives) the other side is a small pile(positives). The trick is to not necessarily draw from the negatives and put them in with the positives, but create more positives. Eventually the positives will out number the negatives. I know it sounds a little far out, but I actually visualize my pile of positives growing and it does sooth me to a certain degree. Visualization is a powerful tool. Good luck to you and may you find peace

There are some beautiful inspiring posts here as I sit and have a pity party for myself toight. Thank you !

Tricia-
YES it is SO hard but please don't give up! You never know when "they" might figure out REALLY how to treat this damn disease and you have time on your side. I know that deosnt sound comforting when you are 25 and dealing with this illness.

I am going to copy these quotes and recite them like mantras. Maybe you could try the same!

Hugs,
Laurie

Tricia, you asked:

Does anyone ever get back to pre lyme state?

I am sure I will, need some more time.
Many here are back to a normal life, they work and travel as before. Lyme is complicated but curable.
