on wednesday and Thursday nights. Tuesday and Friday nights for sure.

I have to get up early and work saturday mornings at 5 AM and I can barely stay awake all day.

After work on saturday its not unusual to fall asleep in afternoon and sleep all the way thru till sunday morn work time.

Tuesday thru friday I drive home a 100 miles to work 10=12-14 hours a day on my reno (amazing it is not!!)

Doesnt help my idiot neighbor who just got out of jail thinks going and coming 15 times a night from 1 or 2 AM till 4 or 5AM is only time to live

I can guess his livelyhood. Talking and driving 5 feet from where I lay my head since the driveway is between the 2 houses.

Anyway either I am too tired or something hurts too bad to sleep tues. wed. thur and sometimes fri.

Saturday working is excruciating cause sooooo tired. How do I sleep better those days???

Don,
If you take 1000 mg of tylenol, that will help for six hours.
It works for me...I wake up with hip pain when it wears off.

Systemic enzymes and fish oil reduce my aches and pains tremendously.

Hydoroxyzine (sp), an antihistamine which requires a prescription, helps me. I would be very careful about letting any doctor put me on benzodiazepines:klonopin, ativan, zanax, valium, I don't know them all off hand.

My doctor put me on klonopin for sleep and told me it was safe. Now I am addicted. I am tapering off now and it's not fun.

If I am having a really bad night, I take a hydroxyzine and it helps. It also helps my allergies. I think it is pretty harmless and non-addictive.

Good luck, insomnia is no fun.

I feel for you don. Noisy neighbors are the worst!

Yes, hydroxyzine is a great choice! Be careful not to take too many tylenol. My dr says 1500 a day is safe. I sure hope he's right!

We have neighbors on the side where we sleep too. They're good neightbors, but just being close we hear them.

We run a box fan at night and that helps too.

I also wear earplugs.

Hope things get better.

Don,
How is your sore throat today?
Did the headache get better?

Carol,

Comes and goes, one minute not bad, next terrible.

Last night same old crap. Sleep for a couple hours and no way get back to sleep.

Why in one house its all I do,,,sleep. And another cant for the life of me????

Tried the tylenol trick, doesnt seem to help.

Oh well,,,have to go hang sheetrock today and fire a contractor tommorrow!!!!

Woke uo at 2 am this morn, turned on tv and first ad was for unisom,,,might try some tonight if I can make it to the store today. Does that give you the hangover effect next morning?

I used to take Ambien but it didnt work well either,,,guess I am just weird!!!!

Salt pills USED to work well to sleep,,,they dont either now!!LLMD said there was a medical reason for that but didnt say what.

Am really getting hot every day,,maybe just not enough salt yet???Last few weeks were brutal. And a roof reflects another 10-20 degrees and heat index was close to 100 anyway. One day came close to heat exhaustion.

Gonna go play in the central air today!!!! see ya later all!!!

Be careful Don. I read somewhere that not getting enough sleep is the same for the body as being drunk as far as functioning.

My lyme doc asst. suggested glycine. I take 3 at night along with other pills to help me sleep.

I, too, thought about dehydration for the headaches.

Sometimes I put sea salt in water along with a slice of lemon...think I need to do that today.

Also, when I have over done it I have difficulty sleeping.

For me, it is about 10% of what you do. [Smile]

it is tricky trying to figure out what works.

Maybe you need some electrolytes. During this klonopin taper, I have had a hard time staying hydrated and have been to the DR several times for IVs.

I'm much better now, but have been drinking pedialyte. It's kind of expensive, $5 a bottle, but I just try to drink a glass or two per day.

My husband also got me some powder stuff with electolytes at the sporting goods store that wasn't quite as expensive.

Hope you are better soon!

Sometimes a protein drink with the full range of amino acids a few hours before bedtime helps me. Have to make sure that the amino acid tryptophan is in it. You can also get tryptophan as 5 HTP tablets in the health food store but there is a caution on the label about taking too often. Then there are earplugs.

Hearo Ear Plugs recommended to me by Azure Wish really help me.

I had tried ear plugs when I first got this and couldn't find ones that helped.

Magnesium is supposed to help.

linky.. you can get packets at health food stores too .. I think it's EmergenC brand. The good thing is that there is no sugar in them.

G2 "gatorade" is lower in sugar too

Thank you Ms. Tutu! I think I might have bought some of that for my son a while back, he has blood sugar problems. It was pretty good.

Unisom
http://www.unisom.com/faq.html

The active ingredient is an antihistamine, which is a sedative when taken in large enough quantities.

Don,

I haven't read all of this

one thing that I experienced: cane sugar keeps me up all night, even if I eat just a spoon in the morning

when I left it out I started sleeping through - ahhhh!

it does not always work but it makes a huge difference to me - just another piece in the puzzle

I leave out all sweets now, honey, syrup, etc. and do well most nights - when I eat sugars, I'm up

Hoping you get some sleep tonight. Glad you got some the ohter night.

Be kind to yourself today.

Don, get married! You'll sleep like the dead!' alright seriously... My doc put me on elavil 10 mg but we had to up it. Unfortunately you're a zombie. Do you have a friend that would let you crash for a couple of days? How about melatonin or diphahydramine? our neighbors have dogs and they let them out Bout 1-2 and they bark for hours. He sleeps through it but I'm wide awake. This is the hardest part for me.

Hmmm....chest hurts.

Before you were saying you had a bad sore throat, and and awful headache.

Check your temperature...are you coming down with something?
I hope not a heart attack.

Please consider taking a day off from the construction stuff and getting some rest.
We don't want to be reading about your funeral.

your funny Carol,,, not even close to that kind of hurt. Congestion from drainage type thing.

Nasal green yellow chunks and we both know what that means.

Grandkids drug this respitory crap home from daycare,,,gave it to mom and dad,,,and they felt compelled to pass it to me.

Last few days felt my eyes were looking thru the lint filter of the dryer,,,constant grit, fuzzy crap in them. Wash it out and its right back ,,,course the drywall dust doesnt help.

But I stay out of it every chance I get. A day off,,,how would that work.????Which year will that be????

I wasted all my days off recouping my leg.

I put waterproof membrane on the shower instead of inhale drywall dust. The horrid stink is far healthier than the dust.rrrrrrrr.

heres hoping tonight is sleeps ville. After I posted last nite I did nap about an hour. Overall an easy week tho!!
