yes and now hospitals here are going to start cracking down on abx use

Someone posted an article about it last week. Pretty scary.

like the tv "hoarding" show, we'd better start stocking up on our vitamins and supplements.

and stay out of hospitals!!!

in fact i admit, i ordered all my andrew lessman in 360 count, the largest sizes, so i wouldn't run out. you can make payments on his stuff so it's pretty easy to do.

another thought, this is going to put a lot of businesses out of business. like health food stores, vitamin shops, etc., just another downward spiral for us.

and i'm over 60 so i'm considered "expendable" in some countries.

I plan to stay out of hospitals.

I'm learning all I can about how else to take care of myself and if I have a life-threatening emergency, oh, well. I'd rather die alone at home than in a noisy hospital.

The "sensory attack" environment - plus the lack of complete medical training to treat those with complex cases - really does not make a hospital a healing experience.

I think the sensory overload is also a factor in this number:

not to mention that 3 out of 5 people (at least that's what i heard) get serious medical conditions in a hospital, even just visiting, they pick up mrsa, c. diff, etc.,

so no i don't plan on going anytime soon unless i'm bleeding out.

one nurse told me she wasn't afraid of aids at all, it was the mrsa, c. diff, and e. coli that terrified her and she works IN a hospital.

Just a quick note to governments, health authorities, and the doctors who warn us about the grave public health consequences of giving people antibiotics. And therefore, making it increasingly difficult to access one of the only possible treatments that offer some hope from this hellish disease.

As of 2007, the FDA reported that 29 million pounds (!) of antibiotics were given to livestock in the United States annually. That is fully 70% of all antibiotics used in the USA.

It's so strange, I've read so many doctors say how concerned they are about supposed overuse in humans, but have never heard one of them mention this inconvenient fact. Maybe they're silently protesting.

And I'm a layperson, but I think it's fairly common knowledge that a great amount of the most virulent illnesses are coming from an animal-to-human vector or jump.

Nobody here or on any other lyme board, no matter how nutty some of us might be, want to be on handfuls of antibiotics.

Obviously, it IS a real issue, drug resistance. But dammit, it's not because of us.
