I am learning more and more about this Lyme Diet and trying to expand my food selections. Getting really tired of eating the same stuff...

Plus, it is not good to eat the same stuff all the time...need variety!

Are mushrooms good for us. Don't see them on The Candida Diet list, so I presume no????

Q: Mushrooms - yes or no?

Some sources say no but, after reading from many other writers on this subject who say yes, and my own experiences, I say:

Absolutely, YES.

Mushrooms of many varieties are an excellent food with exceptional nutrient content - and in no way contribute to candida infections (according to several reputable sources I've consulted & trust on this matter when I was wondering).

Besides, once a mushroom is cooked, it's really no longer a live fungus. It's nearly like a steak but healthier.

Medicinal or Medical Mushrooms, too - as supplements - are excellent for us in many ways.

Cordyceps, a medical mushroom, is suggested for lyme patients in Dr. Burrascano's treatment guidelines.

As for hummus, though, there are dozens of way to prepare that for variety.

Check out the Moosewood cookbooks and The Enchanted Broccoli Forest.

I like to change up hummus and do different varieties like pesto, red pepper, cilantro, jalapeno, etc etc... I agree with Keebler on the mushroom aspect.
