Over a year ago my wife and I had a relapse of Lyme after being treated by our ignorant family doctor. We received the standard 21 days and when I returned with continued symptoms I was told that I developed CFS.

Two months later when my wife was so sick that we were literally were scared that she was dying her gynocologist tested her for Lyme and said that she had an active infection. She turned out to be a LLMD and began treating her.

I went back to my family doctor, who laughed in my face and told me that she treated me properly and I can't get Lyme in the middle of winter. She finally agreed to test me, when it came back as an active infection again she had her receptionist call me with my 21 day prescription and a referral to an ID doctor.

My wife's LLMD began treating me immediately after. That treatment began 14 months ago, two months ago she told me that I have 8 weeks left. Last week she had me stop abx and wants to see me again in another week or two.

14 months ago I was sure that my wife and I would die from this filthy illness. Now I can't remember the last time I felt so good and I think my wife will be able to stop treatment at our next visit too. We suspect that we had it for only 6 - 8 weeks prior to beginning our failed treatment, so about 6 months before our real treatment.

For all of you that are still in treatment and still see room for improvement just stay focused and hang in there! You will get better and you will get your life back. Keep coming here for support and advice from those who are also experiencing it or who have in the past and stay positive!

Thank you all for the support and information you've given me over the past year, it has been invaluable and gave us what we needed to continue to fight and get better.

Oh I'll definately be watching, I think it was Dr. Burroscano that said three years symptom free means Lyme free. For now I'm just going to live like normal again and see how long it lasts, I think I am done though. Hopefully I'll hit three years and keep going with no problems.

Either way I'm going to continue to check in here, I learned way too much over this time to just forget about it. I'm sure there are plenty of people who need the information and the support. I learned more about doctors, Lyme disease, parasites, abx, and everything else than I really wanted to know to be honest. Prior to all of this you were lucky to see me in the dr's office more than once every few years.

Edit - thank you for the kind wishes!
