Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard or might of made their own baby formula.

I have been doing a little research and I am considering it for my 5 month old.

Any thoughts!!!???

My husband is against the idea because of all the bad bacteria in raw milk that can cause harm to our baby.

I just thought I would see if anyone has heard of any success with the homemade baby formula!!!

Thanks for your time

I have chronic Brucella from drinking raw milk as a child.

Just be sure to NOT used powdered milk as it goes through a very toxic chemical process.

We all might note that powdered milk is used in many yogurts, especially the thicker Greek style, and even in organic yogurt. Best to avoid any with powered or condensed milk added.

I don't think there is bad bacteria in raw milk. Assuming you are going to a good dairy. On the contrary, raw milk is full of beneficial bacteria. The raw dairy I get my milk from tests EVERY batch before it is distributed.

I wouldn't give raw milk to a baby. .. but that's just me.

Remember, your baby's immune system is far more delicate and more undeveloped than your's is. You need to protect her from opportunistic pathogens.

If you get raw milk and want to make your own homemade formula, I would strongly encourage you to pasteurize it at home. It would be better to kill the germs and be safe. Then you can have your good fresh, organic, local milk.

You can give her some yogurt soon if you want to introduce good bacteria into her GI tract. Raw milk could be dangerous for her at this very young age.

You're right merrygirl, that's why I said she could start giving her the yogurt "soon". I guess I consider a couple weeks to be soon...
