kam-the cot was a little difficult. one problem was i am WIDE and etta refused to stay on the floor...for some reason all my limbs kept going to sleep...like pins and needles. i also have the artifical knees and severely strained tendon and it was really hard to get up off the cot ...i had to have a chair near by to pull on and it was still hard. but that was just me. the cot was light-aluminum and canvas and easy to fold and unfold. not like the army ones i used as a kid.

tutu-i am really laying low today. was in the recliner til 4 when i returned the bed and chairs my friends had lent me.

this morning the carpet guy came. i m trying really hard not to be negative but he found damp rotted wood under the carpet...the house is on a slab.

it doesnt smell moldy and he didnt see mold but the tacks were rusty and the particle board rotted. the air fresshener smell still give s me a tingly tongue and wheezing...

i think i am going to have the carpet guy cut and pull up about a 3' by 17' strip and just leave the particle board for now. it will be ugly but i will be able to use the wc to go the lengthe of the livingroom and then i will see if the wood will dry out. i'm not sure if there is a vapor barrier or if the water came from top down or bottom up. i need to figure stuff out cuz i cant put 900. of rug on top of damp wood---which is what he suggested. i know i will have to tear out the sub-floor if i cant get it to dry out.

in the bedrooms the subfloor is dry and the ozone machine seems to be getting rid of the smoke smell. i cant tear it all up and do it over...4-5000. so i willtry to figureit out. i could live in the living room, dining room., kitchen area if i had to .. and keep the bedrooms closed off. we'll see.

i'm trying to stay positive and i probably wouldnt have bought the house if i knew...but it is still a very good buy. 112k and a few yys ago it was 250k

i think it will be worth fixing for mein the long run...just kinda short on cash now so have ot be careful

tutu-i keep reading and want to hear you are doing better. u have beeb down too long!

Sounds problematic, kayak. Hope it all works out OK for you!!! Worried about mold for you.

I am not doing any better. Couldn't even make it to church on Sunday. You know it's bad when I can't get to church!!

Dr was going to give me samples of Lyrica. Hubby goes there today to get them and he is OUT.

My Xango did not arrive today as I had hoped, so the pain issue is even worse since I'm totally out of Xango. Just shoot me now.

tutu---it just doesnt seem fair. you are so good. i want you better!

unfortuenatly my saga goes on...unable to keep windows open cuz of new smells from businesses-smells like car exhaust. and i have new info about radon protector that is different than realator told me and will cost money.

i'm glad the house and yard are flat. im glad im near a good hospital and my friends. im glad i can park my camper close and be in good air in there. im glad i have good tenents. im glad my ankle pain goes away when i ice and rest. and im glad i have etta...even when shes naughty...i know she loves me! oh...and i just remembered...im close enough to the beach to go there and it will help my breathing...

So sorry to hear you say: "unable to keep windows open cuz of new smells from businesses-smells like car exhaust." (end quote)

I hope there is some way to work with / around that. Maybe they need to clean, repair, rotate their exhaust system? Are they up to code?

You should have certain rights if that is so close as to come into your windows.

Is this right next door?

The links for you at your "MCS-safe flooring?" thread might also help with advice in this matter:
