I have to share this experience with people who will understand how awesome it was. This small thing made me realize how compromised I really have been and how much better I am.

Last week my 88 year old mom was in the hospital (she is fine... Thank heavens). So while I was going to visit her in the hospital, in an unfamiliar place 2 hours from my home... I left the house without checking my gas tank... And on the road, my low gas light came on...so without thinking I got off the road, followed signs, found a gas station, lots of twists and turns... Filled up, found my way back to the highway... With out batting an eye.

normal huh?

But just a year ago, I would have been stressed beyond belief... In tears...And scared of getting lost and I likely would have gotten lost. My mind was the first thing to respond to abx. But this was such a clear example to me...cause 4 years ago, my mom was in the same hospital... And after visiting her once...I could not bring myself to go again, cause the getting there was so incredibly stressful and debilitating to me.

I shared this story with some one I worked with... She just kinda looked at me , not sure what to make of my sense of accomplishment. So I knew I and to share with folks that would uderstand.

I told my llmd this story today and she totally understood!

Yaay, good for you!!!

I totally get this too. It may seem like a small thing to others, but it represents something huge: getting better! It's really hard for people to understand unless they have been through it.

Thanks for sharing!!
