Ever since my 25 yr.old son started ketek six weeks ago he's been severely fatigued, weak and sick. But, it was time for flagyl according to his protocol so he started that at a low dose. He had just gotten off doxy. He became SOOO sick. He stayed with me for several days - too weak and dizzy to barely function. Went to doctor and he said the protocol is too fast and hard on my son's body so took him off the ketek and flagyl and back on the doxy which he tolerated better. Once feeling better he's to start another abx and then back to the dreaded flagyl at a VERY slow pace. It's been so scary and sad to see him so very sick. For any of you who pray, could you please say a prayer for Clay? He's been pretty much bed bound for six weeks. I think the guy deserves a little break. Thanks.

Hang in there Clay it's a tough road ahead. Flagyl is rough but well worth it. There is no protocol when it comes to LD, everyone is different in bacteria load, herxheimer's, etc.

To get through it you need to back off med's when needed, allowing the herx to die down then restart.

It's very difficult to just plow through it.

flagyl and rifampin are two i had to start at really low dose...just crumbles of a pill at first...but it was worth it...i made huge progress with both and it only took me a few weeks of low dose to get up to the regular dose

jlf, Flagyl was a hellishly difficult drug for me to take. It left me feeling utterly battered and I had days I could not get out of bed without my best friend helping me. I really hope your son feels better very soon. Jess.

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water - I've learned to take smaller doses of drugs so they don't kill me while I'm killing the bugs. Pulsing helps too. It's a long road.

May God bless you, Clay! With strength, courage, freedom from pain, and a return to the perfect health that He designed for you to have.

May God Bless your Mom too, and answer each and every one of her prayers.
IJN
Amen
