My in laws are coming this weekend which is a big source of stress for me. There's 4 of them and I really don't have room for all of them since we gave away one of our beds. I would really appreciate it if they would stay in a hotel. Do I dare ask? What do you guys do when family comes to visit?

Do they know you are missing one bed? You could casually mention it or ask who would like to sleep on the floor? Or call and ask if they can bring sleeping bags?
Would that deter them?

I think we are going to call tonight and see if they will mind staying in a hotel. It will be very cramped here if they don't. I just feel bad making them pay for a hotel. If they stay here, I'm sure someone can stay on the sofa.

Maybe you should go to the hotel...just kidding-but it would be nice to stay somewhere and come visit them......
Do the know how sick you are? I am with calling and letting them know you are sick and short of beds, would they mind staying somewhere...
Easier said than done....good luck I could barely have my sister here when I was at my worst and we are BFF's

They know about the lyme, but are clueless about how sick I have been. I have been faking it for a long time, just trying to be 'normal'(whatever that is). They think I don't like them because I have to say no sometimes to their activities. You know the drill. I just try my best to make everyone happy, but they get upset with me anyway.

I can totally relate. Had 2 family members fly in to stay with us last month- for a week-smaller house of 5 currently here,
no extra rooms, stressed me to the max.
2 more family members coming in 2 weeks, they are staying in hotel, just for the weekend, I feel no stress about it.

oh thank heavens. i've gone through this several times. remember his son and wife taking our bed? never ever again.
they go to a hotel. if they don't like it, don't come...
