I need something for washing my hands that is GENTLE and won't break the bank.

this looks good... has anyone tried this brand before??

I want to put it in a pump. (and I guess it could be used as a body wash)

I would not be able to use it because of the fragrance.

My son is allergic to corn and we are both chemically sensitive. I was searching for a corn-free laundry detergent. A person on a corn allergy forum told me about this website: http://naturesnurtureblog.com/2012/03/02/how-to-turn-bar-soap-into-liquid-handbody-soap/

I thought it was a great site, but have not tried anything yet. I am still gathering ingredients.

The added sent in that first link (as kgg) points out makes it not very helpful for most.

I find many bar soaps cause black mold to grow in my drain. The milky ones seems worse. Clearer ones seem better but I kept dropping those.

This liquid one is very good. I've used it as hand, shower gel and shampoo. No scent at all. Very good soap and also gentle, thicker than most liquid castile soaps:

Let us know what you get. I am in the process of trying to find a hand soap that works out too.

I ordered a different one this time from vitacost and it did not last as long as the one I ordered previously.

The one Keeb posted looks good but too expensive since I need two of them.

I may look at my health food store to check things out. See what I find.

Pocono.. those look great, but I hate bar soaps. Big pain.

I was just reading one of the links on your soap nuts thread.

It looks like you can boil the nuts and use the liquid as a hand soap.

Well, if I did that I would just buy their liquid soap. But I think you have to buy a gallon or so at a time.

I'll go look again. My friend is bringing me more soap nuts on Thursday. Woohoooo!! I buy them from her at cost.

When considering cost, compare the thickness of the liquid soaps and the pump. Can you pump just a tiny bit or does the pump require a full amount to be dispensed.

Well, since my hands are so bad, I bought some unscented Kiss My Face hand soap (liquid) at the health food store.

I really like it. I'll have to see if Vitacost carries it. I need one more. If they don't, I'll buy another next time I'm there.

If anyone else wants to chime in, I'm all ears!! [Smile]

What about Dermasil moisturizing handsoap? You can get it at the dollar tree store...it's the only soap that doesn't irritate my hands..especially during winter!

It does have a very light cherry almond scent.

I would bet it contains parabens. They can cause cancer and are found in most lotions and moisturizing soaps...so I am leary!!

vermont foaming soap

Thanks... those are nice too! Since I'm already going to order at Vitacost (other things) I think I'll buy one there this month.

I'd like to buy a gallon of the Vermont stuff.

Are you taking fish oil?

I haven't need to use hand lotion since I've been taking fish oil...my skin is soft and conditioned.

My hands used to be horribly chapped as soon as the weather turned cold.
