Havin some blue days. Could it b holidays? Perhaps. I am doing great wih Lyme etc. hurt my back and hurts.

Any suggestions? Wanna cry. Scared. So it could b anxiety. Not sure.

Is it crazy how some days are so much worse for sadness and pain?

I don't know if they are connedted, but seemed to be for me.

If you can, put on Christmas music, pamper yourself with a minor thing that brings you joy.

Maybe call a friend/family you have not visited with for a while.

I find diversion the best trick for the blues.

Last night we went to our grandson Christmas party and so many chuckles.

Does the heart and mind good.

I know sometimes the down spiral does not allow even a small thing like this.

Just keep trying. When it starts try to flip the switch in your head to another channel.

Do everything you can to think about other things.

Family, coming events, activities, hobbies, research, anything is better than staying in the rut.

Challenging, but can be done

I struggle with this too and some days I say to heck with it and take a ativan and just let it take hold and then I can relax.

I hate drug, but Ativan is my friend.

So sorry. Depression is very hard to get through.
I would suggest getting out, going anywhere. Go look at Christmas lights. Sometimes just eating a meal with a good friend, laughing.

Listening to music that you listened to when something great was going on in your life, maybe before you got sick will trigger your brain for good memories.

Watch a favorite movie, make a list of good things you are thankful for in your life.

Play an instrument if you can, or sing some of your fav music.

These all help me. Maybe start a project that you find fun/relaxing. Write in a journal.

Glad to hear the Lyme isn't kicking up but sorry to hear about your back.

I think after all we have dealt with to get well from tick borne infections, something like a sore back etc.. can really be the icing on the cake.

Its nice to feel like you get a break occasionally.

Sometimes a distraction is helpful. A good, new book to get into. Cooking something new and exciting. Doing something nice for yourself this time of year can be helpful too like taking a bubble bath, buying yourself a present....

Good idea about the Christmas lights! Maybe we can do that this week. We have beautiful displays in our community that I haven't seen in years. (you have to pay to see them)

At least that is one thing I CAN do. I'm rather blue today too because I don't feel well. I aggravated my neck last week on top of my feet being horrible.

Had fun at a Christmas party yesterday .. then was too tired to go to the grocery store. Hubby had to go for me.

Sigh

Gonna listen to Christmas music today. I have Sirius and rarely listen to it.

Thanks all. I so appreciate your kind words and thoughts. I am feeling better and staying busy helps.

I am seeing a pt to help with my neck. I have a strong faith in god that has helped me through this.

a lot of ppl need to get anti depression or anxiety meds on and off...maybe talk to your doc about that

the drugs dont work for me unless i am major down.

when i am normal down i force myself to walk. even if it is just steps. i just go a few more each hour or whatever...it has always worked for me.. im not talking real exercise...just movemetn---around house or down the drive or a little farther until you want to go farther

From past posts you have been an inspiration and help for me. Know that the good times that were will be again, its hard to remember that during this constant battle. Holidays are tough for everyone especially when the joy that used to be around this time isn't there for different reasons. Feel better. I always said God knows our hearts, this too shall pass.

Janice, I read all the suggetions above so that I wouldn't post if it was already suggested.

Also, the thread is beneficial to us all. So, gleaning great ideas too. [Smile]

We all get "the blues" from time to time. All the suggestions are awesome blues busters.

I'd just like to add one more and hope it will also help with pain in the back.

If possible, taking a 20-30 very warm epsom salt bath is great. It's soothing. It will alleviate the back pain, and the Magnesium in the Epsom salt bath is very beneficial in lots of ways.

It also falls into that "pamper yourself" category. Play music if you like. Candlelight the bathroom if you like.

It's very well worth the try. [Smile]

Dear Lpkayak, Your private message mailbox said it was full when I tried to respond to your message to me so I am responding here. Do you take any specific brand of coq10? There is a brand called Doctors Best CoQ10 on Amazon.com that is only $13.60 which is very affordable for that vitamin, so just wondering if you think that would be fine or if you recommend a specific brand? What herbs do you recommend?
