Thanks TuTu for starting this week's thread. [Big Grin]

Monday-25 minutes on the stair climber, leg lifts, arm workout and that ab video.

Walked Rocky around the back of the property but he didn't do his business.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes.

Met my co-worker and his girlfriend and sampled a chocolate beer which was dark and delicious then......

Guess what? My nephew, Josh called me after work on friday and joined me later for dinner and jazz.

So I had the fancy cheese plate and a glass of pinot noir, Josh had 'the taste of Spain' that was like a cheese plate with proscuitto, cheese, olives, almonds and grilled crostini.

He was bold and daring and had a mint julep, which I warned him was straight alcohol. Course he didn't listen and had some troubles drinking it. [Razz]

For dessert I had a chocolate pots de creme and Josh had the creme brulee.

Then we went to the jazz place and I had a grilled shrimp cocktail and a guave margarita and Josh had 2 mini BBQ beef sliders and a wonderful blueberry cocktail.

Coffee and jazz at the end and enjoyed myself immensely.

Wanted to share this with you all.

YEA Kam!! Good job! Thanks!! I love that one!! [Smile]

kayak.. I'll be praying for you tomorrow!!! Try to do some deep breathing!!!
[group hug]

AKl.. All good news from you!! Is the jazz you get to hear like in a big band .. or acoustic or what?

I'll come back tomorrow to report on my PT appointment.

test is going good. first part-injection over. soon back to hosp for scan. this is my exercise!

we had 4 inches snow last night

Posted by aklnwlf (Member # 5960) on :

Tuesday-No time for exercise this a.m. had to go get 4 tires for the truck.

TuTu-The band was an acoustical 3 piece ensemble, consisting of drums, sax and an upright bass.

Having sinus issues yet again. Pressure in the cheekbones. Looks like I'm not taking enough thyme and fenugreek seed pills. Will double it and see what happens.

See you all tomorrow!

[hi]

finished my test. im ok but tired. i did go out in the yard and watch etta run for awhile -it was above freezing first time in a long time. ice later tonight and 50 degrees tomorrow-hope to get out again and maybe do something that resembles exercise.

sounds like some ruff weather coming thru---hope everyone is ok

AKL.. I am so jealous!! Would love to hear that!!

kayak.. so glad you got that done! NO EXERCISE until you get the reports back!!! [Eek!]

We had a tornado here somewhere today. I heard the sirens .. something I've actually never heard before! I'm at least a mile or two from the nearest sirens, so I'm surprised I heard them. My TV was off at the time. Good thing or I wouldn't have heard them!

I heard the sirens about 4 pm .. hubby was traveling to Springfield!! He got there early .. maybe 4:30 so that was good.

I finally hunkered down for awhile. It was not REAL bad right here but my UPS guy said he delivered stuff to a business south of here a few miles and had NO CLUE that there was a tornado.

So he hunkered down with the employees of this place. He said they have NO warning system for UPS employees.. no cellphones, nothing!

--

PT report from Monday....

The PT said I have an inflamed muscle that runs down the outside of my leg and down by the ankle and then under my foot over to the arch. No wonder it all hurts!!! [Eek!]

Then there's another inflamed muscle in the middle of the same foot. Have no clue how this got messed up.

She did electro-stim on the muscles in my feet. Going back twice a week for awhile.

Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :

Tutu...ah...sounds like relief is on the way.

Kind of strange the UPS guys are not warned. I wonder if they can have an app on their cell phones to let them know.

Tut..checked my phone messages finally. It only told me about one expired message from Nov.

Kind of confused ...I know I had a couple of saved messages.

I have a captel phone connected to cable. I have noticed in the past that I will check messages and there will not be anything and then check again later and have several messages.

ALW..glad you got tires adn will be safer now. Hope you get some relief soon too.

Kayak...glad you made it thru the testing OK...that does take a lot out of a person.

Even a healthy one.

We had 2 inches of snow the night before. it is gone now. I was able to drive Rosie out to the forest to let her stretch her legs.

I got out of the car to see if I could get some pictures of the creek that rarely is flowing with water now.

Rosie jumped in the car when I got out. Too cold for her I guess.

I was at the beginning of the trail. Several people were there. They all had their waterproof, high boots on so they could cross the creek.

It most likely is low enough today to cross. I don't know if I will have what it takes to be on my feet out there today or not.

I never know until I am actually there. So weak lately. thankful for the car and power chair that moves my body.

Took Rosie out to toilet this am. Short outing in power chair. I am still defrosting.

Kayak...

Kam... no, they don't allow the UPS guys to have cellphones at all. Pretty scary if you're in the Midwest!

We got lots of rain yesterday and last night. Not sure how much. We were SO DRY!! The lake was down about 6-7 feet from normal.

It's 35 degrees right now. Warm and cozy inside!

Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :

Who would have thunk it....at least an emergency phone would make sense for the UPS.

Able to put two loads of laundry in....I was pushing it..not sure it was wise...body heated up.

Rested an hour and then drove Rosie out to the forest area...had all 4 windows down....temp says 35 degrees here...it took me a while to cool back down.

Heating up when I try to move the body has been happening a lot lately..to the point I can't function and need to lie down and cool off.

No oxygen or blood flow to the brain either when it happens.

Resting now, then I will get the clothes out of the dryers.

Getting low on quarters for the washer and dryers...need to add that to my list.

Ah yes...I did walk the few steps down to check the creek...high water boots are still needed.

i think the ups guys are connected tho...they have to punch something in when they deliver a package...

not notifying them sounds crazy. before cell phones a friend whoo grew up in KS was driving and thought he saw a tornado ahead...but i guess you cant always be sure. and even if you see one you dont know where it will go...i wouldnt want to live there and now that i cant take care of myself so well im scared to even drive thru. i heard youre supposed to get out of the car and into a culvert if you see a tornado...but what if there is a flood???

but glad to see kam and rosie back to sort of normal

i took it easy after test yesterday and tried to sleep at a reasonable time but couldnt till 3 a.m.

so i got up at 11 and have a huge amountt pain...but I CAN WALK!!! so wierd.

my meds are goofed up and food. one thing i did bad yesterday was get coffee after test...it was late afternoon. not decaf. and i enjoyed it.

so i understood why i coulndt sleep. but now i wonder if that is why i CAN walk...

so confusing. when i couldnt sleep i started organizing receipts to get ready for taxes. its one of my insomnia strategies...do boring budget stuff or read a boring book....

so today may continue that...and keep house as picked up as it was. (exercise for me) im really trying to keep it as good as it was when cleaning lady left.

oh-i just saw the hutch doors that need to be painted so i can put the hutch back together...maybe i'll do that too. thats exercise i can do sitting.

its warm enough to take etta out a little...between the raindrops and i know you say no exercise tutu...but the fact is that 3 times thru this i did 50 steps on the elliptical...just to confirm that is why i couldnt walk...and all 3 times it did make me really sore in the lower right leg that quits on me...but each time it made me less sore...so i am wondering if maybe i should start with that and try to work up...but i will wait for results...

need to decide what to do about diet and salt c too

so confusing. i keep sighing.

my good friend is coming to morrow to put in new bath sink...so i will have a whole bath except floor is painted concrete slab. with throw rugs. its ok. i can keep it clean and warm. havent decided if there is mold under tub yet...if so it will have to be replaced andthat will cost more than i have now.

i dont know why i am rambling...thought about deleting all this but guess this exercise therad is pretty loose about what we talk about...sometimes typing is my exercise...or thinking...

hope all are safe in the bad weather

Wednesday-A rough 25 minutes on the stair climber, really struggled. Leg lifts, arm workout and the ab video.

Walked Rocky around the back of the property. See he's been going in the front so need to clean the yard. [Frown]

Sinus problems getting worse and I don't want to get back on Levaquin and Prednisone. Might go see if they have that Neti Pot that Kayak mentioned still on sale at the grocery store.

Kayak-Looks like you have some crazy weather too. It's pouring down here and we have a tornado watch. Wind blew my truck here and there while driving to work today. It was scary. Gonna try and see if the Neti Pot is still on sale at the grocery store. Got some slight mold problems and that might be what's causing my sinus problems.

TuTu-Is the muscle inflammation what's causing the walking problems? I hope that they can get you some relief real quick. Your poor footsies!

Kam-Those forest jaunts sound so wonderful. Wish Rocky and I could join you and Rosie.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

[hi]

Kam... get some rest!! Hope you are better soon!

kayak.. that's why I think you have a spinal problem. The disc is moving around .. or away from the vertebrae. Scary!!
Hope you hear something soon.

AKL.. I GUESS that is why I can't walk! I also have some neuropathy but I think the muscle thing is worse than the neuropathy. Hope they can solve it. She made no promises.

since i got the flu i've done squat....

just getting out of bed is a major accomplishment.

this stuff has knocked me back years.

Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :

I recall a person asking a comedian what gets them out of bed each morning.

The comedian answered my bladder. Same here. Only Rosie helps to get me a bit further and that is out the door to toilet her.

I shuffled my feet this am to get to the cat dish to feed her and then the dog dish. I think I forgot to put water in their dishes. (later)

Then, back in bed. I am so weak. I'd use my power chair to get around but my brain is not working well enough yet and the apartment is so small...I still need to get up an ddown in the power chair to complete tasks.

I was able to make a cup of coffee..I can smell it from my bed. I like that smell. And I was able to put water in the coffee maker container.

resting now, then I will get up and get the coffee.

I reallly need a shower...maybe later thsi evening.

Temp on my comuter says 29 degrees outside. I also would like to change clothes. I have been wearing the same clothes sisnce last week I think.

At least I was able to wash clothes yesterday.

Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :

Take care of you randibear. You will get better. Your only job right now is to keep breathing.

Breath in. Breath out.

Tutu..wishing you could find a way to get around while you are wtg to get back on your feet.

Wait a minute. I'll get a sleigh and pull you around on my bike. [Smile]

ALW..hoping you get a tail wind next time. Glad you were able to do your exercise routine and hope you don't pay for it later.

Yes. When I am able to go the 3 miles to the forest, it makes my day. It is so beautiful out there with large boulders and mtns....they always call me....but I have yet to figure out how to answer that call...maybe an off road power chair that I can recline in.

I don't think I would last long tho. guessing the creek at the beginning of the trail head is low enough this am to walk across.

The canal in front of the apartments has just a trickle of water running thru it now.

I have some picking up of poop around here to do to when able...mostly across the street in the physical therapy blg parking lot....it has little islands that Rosie has been using to do her business.

Out in the forest and in the field next door....Rosie's poop disappears. I figure the javelina eat it.

But, I stopped taking her to the field next door as I figured out that might be what was causing my left arm to hurt...I had to lift up a chain to get my power chair under when I went to teh field.

Kayak..hope to catch up on your post later. Brain is fading.

When I went out to toilet Rosie before bedtime the fire department showed up. I was thinking how rotten I was feeling.

Then saw the fire truck and thought....I am not feeling that rotten.

They come here a lot to help people when they get a 911 call..sometimes it is because someone has died..other times they need to go to the hospital.

Not sure how many apartments there are here...hoping to figure that out soon.

but, there are so many people that I never see or rarely see...so many hold up in their apartments.

Of course I am only out about 3 times a day for only 5 or 10 min..but more visable in the power chair with Rosie.

Oops. Forgot why I was thinking of the fire department. I noticed that they all had some kind of walkie talky in their hands when they got out of the fire truck.

They were putting them in the back of their pants...I thought of the UPS people...I thought they needed something like that too.

I have anxiety today. Someone from accent care is coming this afternoon.

Not sure if it is the person who is doing the report card on the caregiver I have or the paper work for me to have another year of service.

Either way...the anxiety comes from not knowing how my health will be doing.

I really struggle with all the questions and it makes my health worse...I hate it.

Every now and then it is not painful. Hoping this afternoon will be one of those times.

also hoping they will add an hour and a half more a month.

The caregivers have been telling me that I need more time...I have known that since I moved here in 2005.

They told me I could get an hour and a half more if I tell them I am concerned about falling in the shower.

Which is why I only get about 2 showers a month..I wait until I am feeling strong enough to take a sit down shower.

OOps. I just recalled I forgot to plug in my power chair last night to recharge. I wasn't up to it after coming back from toilet Rosie...needed to get my strength back...then forgot.

Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :

Starting to get day light out now. The temp dropped to 23 degrees now.

Guess I have been laying here typing away for an hour.

Time to get up and get dressed and get Rosie out ..burr it is cold in the apartment.

Hope I remember to turn the heater up while I am out. I can't handle the sound of the heater when I am in the apartment. so levea it off

Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :

Able to get dressed, fill sinks full of hot sudsy water and put dirty dishes in, take Rosie out to toilet and pick up robe that has been on bedroom floor for a few days now.

Heart pounding when I try and move my body and so weak.

Resting now. 8:00 am. Ice on windshield of car..too weak to scrap it off...hoping it will either melt or I will be able to scrape it off after resting...then drive Rosie out to forest.

Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :

Still on a roll this am but just about done in now.

Good news: able to load up the power chair....bad news...padding on the foot lift fell off...good news...remembered a bolt on my kitchen counter that I assume the caregiver put there when she was vacuuming...good for her

..That was the missing bolt...

..bad news...a police officer was patrolling the parking lot when the pad fell off..he stopped to see if he could help...

..he was not helpful and only caused me to get worn out more....not his fault...I need to figure out how to handle these things

..I do recall telling him that I would deal with it later as I needed to get off of my feet 3 different times..I wondered if he had hearing problems too..

Bad news...I forgot to unhook the left arm of the power chair while loading....it caused my joy stick to bend under my arm on the power chair and the power chair to recline while on teh lift..

..I knew something was different about the way the power cahir was riding...but I had checked and the chair was locked down

..When I got home to unload it I saw what I had done...

Good news..I was able to bend the joy stick back and all is well.

My hands were also shaking when I tried to give the clerk some money...so I just had her get the money from my wallet.

Hands were also shaking when I tried to hold the power chair switch to load and unload...so used elbow

I also need to get treats for Rosie to have with me ...as I dropped a few things at the store and she did not pick them up for me...

it was texture she has not picked up before...so need to work on her picking different things up again.

I also finally figured out that I needed a container that she can't get into for her treats...as I forget and leave them in my purse or in the side bag that I hang off of the side of the power chair to put things in and she gets into the plastic bag.

Can't beleive it took me all these years to solve that issue...saw a pepper ridge farms plastic gold fish container that I think will work at the store...which I had purchased it now.

Hoping I am doing welll enough to get it later or something like it. I also hope I remember.

Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :

I also need an extended arm grab it thing....but I need one that I can shorten...I had one a while back but it was too long to carry on my power chair...no place to put it...

If I had one that folded I might be able to put it in the bag that is hanging off of my power chair....so many things on the top shelf...even too high for Rosie to get.

Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :

Good news...I have just about found most of the things I misplaced ...with the exception of a few more things...hope to find them soon..they are things I use daily.

Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :

I also had the thing where I am too hot...got back to the car and started stripping my coat and sweater off and rolled down the windows to help cool me down.

I think it was high 30's at that time or low 40's. Weird.

Whew! You wore ME out, kam!! Hope you can get some rest now!

Thursday-25 minutes on the stair climber, leg lifts, arm workout and that ab video.

Took Rocky around the back of the property.

Used acupressure trigger points on my sinuses and got some relief.

Also ordered something called 'Snoot' from Amazon that I'm hoping will help.

Not really wanting to go through another round of Levaquin and Prednisone.

Hang in there TuTu, Kam and Randi.

See you all tomorrow!

ak-there is an over the counter med for chest congestioncalled guaifenesin. it is the active ingredient in musinex. musinex is really expensive but you can get guaifeneisn at the dollar store.

they used to use it for fibromyalgia-and no one understood why. now some say itworks for biofilms.

i told my friend about it cuz she was having lung congestion. she has chronic sinus congestion. she took it for her lungs and her sinus's cleared up...after over 5 yrs.

she also is all bouncy and full of energy (shes fighting lyme) and cant believe how much energy she has.

i think its worth a try. my son cant use it-gets nighmares and insomnia...but if it works it might help you

my friend could not put the sink in-we had to return it and buy another. hope she will put it in tuesday.

she did a bunch of moving furniture and helping me declutter tho...so i am happy.

i shoveled more...it was warm and melty and windy today but weill be very cold by omorrow

im tired from talking and making decisions. i doubt if i will do much more today

Friday!!! Friday!!! Friday!!!

Did my Friday dance here at work.

No exercise, went to deep tissue massage therapy instead. She did some craniosacral work too.

Hey TuTu you might be interested in this....had some reflexology done today. They massage certain areas of your feet that are supposed to correspond to other body areas such as head, liver, heart, etc.

One area of my left foot was very painful. Low and behold, on the reflexology chart that she showed me, it was an area to work for left shoulder problems.

She told me that in it being painful I had alot of congestion in that area and to work it myself at home.

Interesting body work.

Kayak-Thanks for that tip on the guaifenesin. Heading to the grocery store after work and will pick some up. Am taking just a generic decongestant and the fenugreek seed/thyme pills. Lord knows I can use some energy too. Am real run down lately. Thanks!

See you all tomorrow!

regarding the cell phone the fed ex man could not have,,,,

ALL businesses must have read the same magazine that bashed cell phone use and dangers by employees

Seems what one does they all follow. I work for 2 different large businesses and BOTH banned cell phone use within 3 months of each other.

You get caught with a cell phone in your pocket during clocked in hours,,,,your suspended OR fired.

It is a rather stupid rule,,,but believe it or not MOST all people carry them any way,,,especially the younger ones..

Next time a delivery guy gets stuck or broke down and no way to contact help,,we will see how that works,,,specially the management

Course they are all exempted anyway. See them chatting away all day long!!!

[lol] Well, guess what!? My PT gave me a foot massage today! Woot!! It was great. I do massage my feet twice a day with essential oils. I think it really helps.

She worked it pretty hard and I was happy that for the most part it did not HURT. However, then she did the electro-stim part and I started having tingling and some pain.

When it was finished my foot was stiff. Sheesh. Maybe it drew out toxins?

I could use a full body massage and cranio-sacral too!

Ah yes...I was finally able to plug in the big boy power chair to charge and pick up the plastic bags that have been on the floor in pieces because Rosie thought there was something edible in them.

hi kam...guess its just you and me. i bet everyone else is thinking about football.

i dont know what got into me this morning but i began to organize the kitchen. it involved getting 2 totes in that were by the back door-they had been waiting for me since thanksgiving!

i did some...sorting into boxes: keep-maybe keep-sell or yardsale -throw away

i did accomplish some...but then had to stop cuz it was overwhelming.

so i watched a movie and paid a few bills. its time to go back to doing something...but i stopped here first.

its been my right leg all along that has kept me from walking and today the left leg is getting worse and worse. its bringing me down. im trying to ignor it and plan to get appt tomorrow with primary to see my bonescan results and hear what he has to say about not being able to walk.

we have had pretty flurries all day and i am sitting in warm, comfy chair with big window in front of me. positive thoughts to all!

kayak.. Would you PLEASE quit lifting things until you know the full status of your back!!? PLEASE?? [group hug]

I'm glad you were able to get out a bit... even to the beach!!

I'm in pain and can't type much. Got to hear hubby play last night at a nearby coffee shop. He was great!

Posted by lpkayak (Member # 5230) on :

i didnt lift anything...i just dragged in the tote-it wasnt heavy and was right by the back door. im calling primary in the morning-i guess he will send me to back doc...i havent been able to find one that ppl say good things about here.

tutu-you think moving the totes is realated to my left leg hurting??? i didnt even thik of that. i have a whole lot of cramps all over too. i need mag. there is just so much to do.

Able to put away some laundry yesterday..guessing 10 min on my feet.

I had to stop when I got so overheated I couldn't continue. Opened windows and doors although it was cold out to help cool me down.

Hoping to read how you all are doing when that part of the brain is working.

Able to put dirty dishes in sinnk to soak this am and clean up a little in the kitchen.

Still hoping to get that shower.

Next step this am is to get dressed and get Rosie out to toilet. Recovering now from kitchen duty.

I also was able to find my gentle leader...I had 3 at one time...so far have only found one.

And my Peltor Ear Muff protection

And the crowl a friend knitted for me...that helps on those early cold mornings to keep my face from freezing.
