- You know you need to go to the doctor/ER but you are too tired to get up and go.

- You rely on remembering that it's "5 pills at wakeup time and 7 pills at bedtime" otherwise you'll end up taking your Aderall at bedtime and your sleep aid with breakfast.

- You say to your kids, "I just a need a few minutes' more sleep first..." more often than you say, "Because I said so!"

- Your entire wardrobe, not just socks, could get up & walk away on its own.

_ You put out more recycling each week than all other houses on the street combined (frozen food boxes, granola bar boxes, soup cans, cereal boxes, etc)

when it takes too much effort to come out to the kitchen to eat

You need a nap after blow drying your hair.

You drive to your mailbox to pick up the mail.

-- you buy food you don't have to cook and leave it on the counter.

-- you fall asleep on the toliet rather than walking back to bed.

-- you wear bras to bed so you have less to have to put on in the morning.

-- all your makeup, toothpaste, etc., are on the counter so you don't have to dig through drawers.

-- you buy large sizes at costco and sams and store them on the floor in the spare bedroom so you don't have to sort through them.

-- you wear the same jeans and t-shirt for a week so you don't have to wash clothes.

This should be compiled into a book!!!!! Some are funny but yet so sad.....

Posted by lax mom (Member # 38743) on :

-you can wash the clothes but don't have the energy to put them in the dryer

-once you gather up the energy to dry them, you don't have the energy to fold them and put them away

-you know how much energy it takes to stand upright and you don't have enough

-you can't climb "the mountain" (your staircase), so you throw things, that need to go upstairs, up to the top. When you gather the energy to climb the mountain, you take the pile of stuff with you.

-you need to make a phone call, but you don't have the energy to press the buttons to dial the #...even if you could, you don't have the energy to talk.

-It feels like a 6 mile walk to the bathroom

- by the time you are showered, dressed, and combed, your ready for a nap and too tired to eat breakfast

--you're too tired to talk...even at a whisper...

--you're too tired to reply to emails, because you used up all your energy reading them...

--things dropped are left where they fall, because bending over to pick them up would result in YOU falling to the floor...and then you wouldn't be able to get back up...

--going to the bathroom when you first wake up takes all your energy and you have to lay down for a nap for another hour before you can get dressed...

--it takes half an hour to move your arm over to your alarm clock to hit the snooze button...

--it feels like gravity has tripled, your legs are made of lead, and your head is a 100# bowling ball...

I can relate. I've been so tired that just lifting my arms while lying in bed was too much effort.

I read that someone was taking a med for ADHD. Is this because you have it or is it the stimulant that gets you at least out of bed?

Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :

It's a stimulant, moosemama.

Welcome! [Smile]

I think that was me. I take Adderall. It gives me, I won't go as far as to say energy, but it gives me at least some motivation. It makes me want to be productive, even when my body can't physically handle it.

I take an extended release form of it, which can last anywhere from 10-14 hours. I also take a muscle relaxant, which makes me drowsy for part of those Adderall hours. But at least the Adderall gives me some time when I can be somewhat lucid and interact with my kids intelligently from the couch or bed.

Lyme fatigue--
You're so tired that you keep your meds & supplements in tubs on your bedside table so you can take them because the bathroom is too far away (6-7 feet).

You no longer care whose socks are whose, you just pick two out of the laundry basket because you can't figure out how to match them up.

You look like the eccentric lady from your childhood when you go outside in the backyard because you don't want another doxy sunburn.

You begin five different books and aren't sure why the "author" is writing about history of the atom bombs, a death in a small town in England, and recipes for quick meals.

You realize you've put on your daughter's teeny bikini underwear and you're too tired to change it.

You're trying to read the newspaper and suddenly wake up with the
paper stuck to your cheek where you've fallen asleep with your head tilted down. You also don't even realize you now have faint impressions of a car ad on your cheek.

You're so worn out after browning the ground turkey that you have turkey tacos for the third night in six days.

You only put deordorant under one arm because you'rs too tired to do the other one.

You start considering those velcro walking shoes because tying yours hurts your hands. They'd be stylish on me, right?

You watch a third episode of a show you don't even like because getting up to find the remote would take too much energy.

You still have the bite of celery and peanut butter in your mouth after twenty minutes because you're too tired to chew.

You wonder how much it would cost to put astro turf in the yard...

I can relate to a few things here. Sadly my kids can relate to many things here.

I just hate this. I pray the nightmare ends soon.

You go to buy supplements and discover you left your bank card at home, and, when you write a check

for the meds, you write your name in the blank for the business name and sign the check, too....

This happened today.

omg!!! and i thought i was the only one on so many of these things...again..LN validates us. we are not alone.

you cant make this stuff up..honestly.

You stay up way too late because you are too tired to just get up and go to bed.

Reading a book is exhausting. It's so much easier to cruise around on Lymenet.

You forget how to use a blow dryer because it's been so long since you've had enough energy to style your hair.

You don't care how your hair looks anyway.

Posted by Dove7 (Member # 39546) on :

Boxermom, my stylist asked me last time she cut my hair how much time I take to style my hair. I looked at her blankly and said, "What do you mean by that? I comb my hair most days."

She laughed because she thought I was joking. The word style truly didn't register for me when she asked.

We should start a club, Dove. It could be all about hats.

[lol] Dove, Boxer and Otter!

I've often said I was too tired to go to bed. Mainly because going to bed requires washing my face, brushing my teeth, etc. Too much work!

- You can only follow one conversation at a time.
- A group gathering is too many convesations
- A group gathering wipes you out after about 40 minutes.
- You can only follow one conversation if it is spoken slowly, otherwise people must repeat what they said many times and explain many times what they mean.
- You have a good day and celebrate by living as closely to normal as possible, only to have post-exertional malaise the next day and several days thereafter, which wipes you out on all levels, physcial, mental, emotional - How does that happen? Still haven't solved it.
-Most of what everyone has said. I have experienced most of them for several years, although I am improving somewhat.

my club is the "hair-tie" club. longer hair is easier cuz i can just pull it up and away(except when having rotator cuff troubles-that was a challenge"

For those able to work, you nap in the car during lunch break.

Posted by OtterJ (Member # 30701) on :

You curl up on the couch in a alternative down comforter so you look like a sausage roll and guard the remote control with your life. Anytime someone comes near to change the channel, you open your eyes and pretend your are still watching whatever program you turned on.

Posted by Dove7 (Member # 39546) on :

Or Otter, when you're asleep and your daughter comes in to quietly turn off the light and tv when she went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, you mutter "Hey, I'm watching that!"and are suddenly wide awake.

Boxer, it would have to be a hat club with one hat, for if I put them away today, I wouldn't be able to find them tomorrow.

How about being so tired that when you need to write yourself a reminder note you're too tired to push or click the end of the pen to get the tip out.

Too tired to breathe---I get that a lot, esp now.

Too tired to eat, that's true most of the time.

Too tired to go to bed---yes, that's me all the time! It is a heck of a lot of work to go to bed---brush teeth, floss, take sleep meds/supplements, wash face, put on pain patches, yada, yada. Easier not to bother---ha!

Other people couldn't begin to understand.
Too tired and out of it to call the people I need to call, let alone do all the other things I need to do.

Do a wash?? I keep hand washing stuff, because I can't get to doing a wash.

The worst is again starting to pass out if upright, and therefore needing more POTS meds (Florinef & atenolol). But it takes quite a while for these to take effect.
