Even in the Midst of a Doxycycline Shortage the CDC Still Recommends Doctors treat patients with the Drug as a Prophylaxis against Lyme disease following a tick bite.

Doctors should be treating any and all Tick Bites with Doxycycline!

Thanks for that link. Glad to see they are addressing it, even if not talking about how their treatment guidelines fall way short, it does get the message out about early treatment and some of the other infections to consider.

So, some good here - though they still miss the mark a lot of the time, especialy as I did not see one word about babesia, although they did mention malaria.

"Providers should be judicious in its use following a tick bite." (end quote)

Big sigh. "Judicious" usually means "stingy" or to deny.

This is the same old one dose doxy recommendation for recent tickbite. Nothing here to cheer about.
