Hi Gang
I think Doc S gave me that years ago. I have been such a mental case for about 5 weeks now.

Got to sleep somehow.

My husband takes it and sleeps like a baby.

He was on Ambien for the past year and needed to switch to something safer. So, his LLMD switched him to Trazadone with no problems.

Trazodone is pretty good! Don't take it in high doses though.

Works great with my husband too--also prescribed by LLMD. If you're too groggy in the am afterwards you might want to try a half dose.

I use it and other rx's plus melatonin.

I took it for years. Then I became allergic to it. It was a good med, though.

I am a terrible sleeper. Beyond awful. My current cocktail is Lorazepam, Benedryl, Melatonin. (In case you're looking for more options.)

And no carbs. Carbs keep me up all night. Bummer, cuz they taste sooooo good.

G'night MADDOG! Hope you catch some ZZZZZZs!

Let us know how it goes.

Some people do great on Trazedone. I could not take it at all. What helped me sleep when I was sick was Klonopin.

Everyone reacts differently and you just have to find what works for you.

Just found out I have a thyroid problem.

Doctor called with lab test results.

Hypothyroidism.

Normal is like 4 I have a 9.5

I wonder if this is a Lyme caused problem???

Very common with disseminated Lyme, dog.
Seems them buggers like the "energy sweets" put out by the thyroid. They require external energy absorption/ stimulation (as they have no internal GI tract ;-).
And when they gang up/ around the gland it causes 'production issues'.
I had an 8.6 myself just prior to the Lyme diagnosis (my IgG panel results lit up like a pinball machine).

IF youre over 40 & hypothyroidism is in the family, you may end up needing a li'l pill every morning from now on. (No big deal)

Otherwise, it's quite possible you'll be able to phase out the thyroid supplementation with time, as you recover. Dr. B's guidelines mentions this.

OH yes, Lyme messes with the thyroid.

Luckily, for most people Hypothyroidism is easily controlled.
Synthroid is usual pill, one a day.
Hope that works for you.
Let us know how you are doing, you old puppy.

The synthroid seems to be working really well.

Each day brings more improvements, now small but they are there.

Even my eyebrows are thin on the outer side.
My throat was sore every morning vocal cord erosion
I was a walking textbook of thyroid problems.

So glad it is helping already!!

YAY!

Take it easy for a while until you get some more sleep and regain strength.

Everyone should get thyroid tests Not just the regular TSH 3, but TSH-4 and any others you can get.

You should start to feel better MADDOG ...they may have to raise/lower depending on how you feel. Too much is not fun either!

Glad you are getting some answers.

Sleep would be nice, it makes the world a better place to be.
