I feel so good when my son is happy. I realize It's my therapy really. It feels, for a little while, like the old days.
He has three friends over. I think it's pretty cool cause their all from Asia. It's so funny to hear all four of them talking at the dinner table.
A week ago yesterday he went to a b-day party and he was shunned. The inviter was his friend but caved under peer pressure, and most of the other kids were football jocks. They left him out, someone in the group stole all his tickets. Another one asked if he'd come off the streets. When my son said he was invited, the boy laughed in his face. There was more, but that's enough. He cried at home.
So, tonight I feel happy. For a small spell of time my life is worth living again.

Kids can be SO cruel! I hope your son can forget about that episode and move on with his "real" friends.
Sounds like he has found some good ones!

I hate that shi* - I wish I could have been there.
I love being in the same room as - you know -
Tell your son to stand tall, and those who hurt others will hurt more in the end!
God does has a plan for all of us, and those kids are on the end of the list...

Awww, life is the best when our kids are laughing and smiling.
I'm so sorry he had to deal with such jerks. Just tell him to treat what they did like Charlie Brown's teacher "Wawawawawa". That's what I teach my daughter...it helps me too
Thanks guys for the comfort words to share with him. I will pass them along.
Funny you mention Charie Brown Lax, cause when my son says "I got a rock", he sounds exactly like him.

There's nothing worse than seeing your kids hurt.
I'm so sorry your little boy had to deal with this, but am thankful he has some real friends to help him through a tough time.
Take care and God bless you both.

Kids can be such turds...it can be a lesson for your son on how not to treat others. Unfortunately...the turd-thing never changes..."adults" can be that way too...you only get to use the incident as a teaching moment...at least when you get older, you have more skills and maturity to handle hurtful situations.
