I was fortunate to grow up in Lancaster County, PA. My father's family were old German/Swiss Amish. His grandfather's annual sauerkraut making was a family tradition. He made it in a huge barrel in the cellar. I wish I had his directions. We ate a lot of sauerkraut. I liked it when Mom cooked it for hours with a pork shoulder. It smelled so good when we walked home on a snowy evening. Dad always told us it was good for our stomachs. Guess he was right. He was never sick. I don't think he ever took a sick day in 50 years. (I got Mom's genes. [Frown] )

My LLMD has me taking Florastor 2xday and Fluconazole 1xweek. Dad's sauerkraut tasted better!

I wish I had grown up eating sauerkraut. I know my grandmother used to make it.

Here is a thread with info on gut health.. It includes recipes for sauerkraut. You need to get busy making some! It is WAY BETTER than taking probiotics.
