I guess this is the reason for some of these crazy reports, including mine. This is almost as if we are at war with someone & they keep on bombing us with ticks. Hey they can do that & we would NEVER know it.
Wow. I read that some folks are passing on the tip to get a lot of guinea fowl!

That's a LOT!! At least they are more honest about all the diseases a tick can carry .. and they even mentioned fleas. That is one thing they will never report on in the States.

I think I'll walk across the street to the nature preserve, aka; planet Lyme, and see how many ticks I can pick up.
Remember someone did this on the Under Our Skin video with a white sheet?
Perhaps we collect them and send them to a few non believers.

When I first got sick & did my research I told my sis the damn things are all over. She went out to the store & bought the felt cloths & fabricated a cloth tick catcher. She swept the area & produced nothing.
Then the next time she mowed the lawn & I told her not too, she got a tick on her within 20 min. That is when she joined the no grass club. 2 1/2 years later she got bit again on her deck though Posted by Lymedin2010 (Member # 34322) on :
I put my two schnauzers down to pee once...we were traveling
It was southern ny state near the hudson river
The road crossed the river with a bridge...but first you were on this island in the river
There was a place to pull over and they hadto gi...so..i. lifted them down and in seconds they were crawling with ticks
It was a nightmare fo me...but i had my trusty permethrin spray-never leave home without it
I lifted them into back of car-statuon wagon
I sprayed the floor and walls first-it was carpeted
And i just started brushing them off and out the car with my hands. I was frantic...it took awhile...when i thougvt they were gone i sprayed the dogs and my clothes and the rest of the floor of the car...i remember...having to drive with windows opened cuz of spray None of us had one attach...but that was one of the scariest moments of my life

I read 50% moose reduction somewhere - you're right, it is a horror story.
Extra protection for dogs: some pet owners are misting their fur with Orange Guard, an essential oil from oranges. Health food and hardware stores carry it. Put a little in a spray bottle and fill with water and lightly mist/rub. Would be worth trying and see whether your dog picks up any ticks or not.

Thx for the article - it's horrific. May be no more moose eventually. Instead of just watching them die, why don't they think about ways to save the animals? Guess everyone would have to get pretty creative.

What they do to "help" is let the hunters kill less of them
That only leaves more to be totured by lyme as far as um concerned
Can you imagine eating meat from.an animal with 150,000 ticks attacged?
