We just found out the my daughter was approved for SSDI... Great news, right! Yesterday we get the judges written report.

She is getting benefits under her fathers SS because he was disabled.

Primary disability was Lyme Disease.

The psychiatrist hired by SS said she was depressed because she had to spend her money for college on treatment. Said chronic Lyme disease doesn't exist and it was in her head. He diagnosed her with hypochondria. The SS judge gave zero weight to his report siting that he was not an expert in his field so basically had no business even talking about Lyme. Go judge!!

The 4 people who held weight in her ruling were her ILADS LLMD and ILADS psychiatrist, my daughter and me.

Wow! After 6 years of treatment she is getting better. Has a long ways to go in fact, but it is such a blessing for her to get this validation. And money!

I wanted to share this because I know many fight to get an award. I am hoping that this message will give others hope.

Congrats! Agree with Randi - this is a good judge - the legal equivalent of LLMDs. Do we have a term for that? LLJ??

And another thing was that after every paragraph it sai that she is not malingering or faking it because her symptoms are clearly supported by the medical history.

In your face!!!

All of the people including some family members and a ton of so-called medical professionals who have told her she is lazy, not really sick and she just needs to try a bit harder and she would be well.

To have a letter and the validation that she really has been and is still very I'll probably is the biggest blessing and boon to her further recovery.

Feeling so blessed, and yes, righteous!

Great News! Glad to know that some judges understand this illness.
