I think I have finally found an attorney willing to take my medical malpractice case. It will be a wrongful death lawsuit for failure to diagnose and treat babesia according to the IDSA guidelines. Yes, you read that right. With pulmonary involvement the hospital should have done a red blood cell exchange as well as prescribing meds.

Attorney will make the decision within the next 24 hours I think. For anyone needing legal help of any sort the website below was very helpful. You can ask lawyers questions for free and search for lawyers by specialty and location.

The attorney is "intrigued" by the case. His words.

I sure hope you got a medical malpractice "Lance Cooper" attorney for your case Bea!

I saw this in the World Magazine about Lance Cooper single-handedly taking on General Motors in regards to their ignition switch recall. He was quite the detective and relentless.

We know you (and hubby) went through as much (and more, MUCH more) with your husband's sickness and death than the Melton's did, and deserve to have justice and rightful closure.

Will pray that the TRUTH will be exposed & RULE!

The lawyer seems brilliant. Our phone interview lasted about an hour and he was a really quick study. Planned to go home tonight and do a crash course on babesia. Sure wish there were more docs who took as much interest in the infection as this one lawyer has already.

Sent him several links including the Dr H video interview to help get him up to speed.

Hoping for a miracle. Even if the case is not successful just getting it on the books will be a big boost to other tickborne patients. As far as I can determine there have never ever been any lawsuits filed because of a missed diagnosis of babesia.

Bea,

Your courage and persistence is as much admired in attempts to seek justice and change as they were in your care for Steve. I know he's looking down, proud and pleased . . . with a strong hand on your back.

Love lives on. No matter the outcome. I do hope for the "second best outcome" at this stage (the first would have been doctors doing their jobs to begin with).

I'll keep a light on for justice and change now, though, and hope it helps shine some light for you.
