I don't like it.

Just to see - I ordered a bottle of GF from PT.

The first split second I thought it smelled the same as TO from YL. Then realized it didn't.

I took a sniff from the bottle.

Then I put a few drops in a shot glass of water - like I have done the other EO's I am trying.
(my smell test before going any further and applying topically with FCO).

Still no-go on the GF.

I only have the one bottle of TO by YL (that was given to me) to compare.

Dunno - did I get a particularly good batch of
TO? And a bad batch of GF?

Or is there really that much of a difference?

Yes, there really can be that much of a difference.

Big difference in companies. I will not do without my REAL Thieves oil from YL.

What is PT and GF?

Germ Fighter. Same oils used in Thieves.

I have no idea what all the initials mean other than GF=Germ Fighter!

What the heck are PT, TO, YL, FCO,

I have the Thieves Oil from Germ Fighter. I really like it! I think it helped DD and hubby get over respiratory infections.

What's the difference between this brand and others?

YL is Young Living.

Quality ..

FCO = fermented cod liver oil??

PT = Plant Therapy (company)
TO = Thieves Oil
FCO = Fractionated Coconut Oil (carrier oil)

Germ Fighter is "made" by Plant Therapy.

Thieves Oil from Young Living.

I felt bad giving GF from PT a bad review - wanted to protect the company from search engines - so used initials.

My bad review is my opinion. Others may like GF.

I had read where oils from the same company can vary from bottle to bottle depending on some things. Do others find that the TO from YL stays the same - bottle to bottle?

Before I invest more money into EO's - ie joining YL - I would like to know.

I would hope to not get a bottle of TO that smelled like GF. Thanks.

I've never had bottles of Thieves (YL) smell different. Once I had a bottle of peppermint smell different. They said it was due to the time of year it was harvested and refunded my money. It really wasn't bad, it was just not as pleasant as the first bottle I had rec'd.

I never had a problem again and figured it was a fluke. No other bottles of other oils smelled differently either.

(I've never heard of Plant Therapy .. thanks for info.)
