Every now and then, I put a teaspoon of baking soda in a big cup of water and run through my hair to get the residue of shampoo that builds up.

Works great.

Thanks, I will try it too.

Has anyone else here tried it or plan on trying it?

I did the whole "no poo" thing for a while. It didn't really work out so well for me. You only use backing soda and vinegar to wash your hair.

The vinegar is like more of a conditioner and the baking soda you mix with water and spray into the roots and it is supposed to mix with your hairs natural oils and create it's own sort of soap.

I think people with really thick hair have a better time with it. I had a really chemical sensitive period so I quit using regular shampoo for a while. The no poo method never really worked so well for me.

my beautician just recommendedneutrogena shampoo. I use it periodically and it seems to work.

I sometimes add baking soda to the shampoo in my hand.

I find when I am really toxic my hair actually gets sticky and this really helps.

Neutrogena is so drying for me and full of chemicals.

My current favorite is TheraNeem by Organix South.

Haven't tried the baking soda.

I would love to do this! I use BSoda for a lot of things and love it.

But what about your tint? I'm afraid of losing
my color. I hope someone chimes in that is using it with dyed hair. Until then...no way!!

I had to stop perms when i got mcs. I never got around to "tint"

Allllll natural here

I mix baking soda, hydrogen perixide and dawn to get rid of smelly stuff

And i brush teeth with sea salt but i can never remember if i am suppised to add baking soda or powder to that

I'm allergic to nickel and baking soda irritates my skin (baking soda is high in nickel).

Vinegar burns my skin. Too acidic.

I just use unscented, natural shampoo for kids. It works great.

I don't have any clue about tint. I am still gray-free. (thanks, Mom)

Vinegar would not work for me either. I know some people use borax but I haven't been able to find any at the store yet. It's in high demand.

Kayak.. Baking soda on your teeth is OK, in moderation. If you use it too often it will wear off the enamel.

I dye my hair and it hasn't been a problem.

But, I only run a small amount through my hair occasionally.

Don't think I would do this regularly on colored hair.
