He's very brave to do this in light of how he has been so criticized by the medical establishment (and even Congress) for stepping out of the bounds into which most doctors have curtained themselves.

I hope he can really enlighten and has not watered this down or omitted key points. Thanks for the heads up.

I don't have any way to watch TV (thanks to lots of hills between me and the TV tower - and the greed of big cable companies) . . . So, just went to Dr. Oz website and saw this segment. But it's so short. It that all there was?

Perhaps, since it's not yet even 2:30 and the show might not yet aired in some markets, maybe a full segment will be posted later?

While the short segment seems to be good on the surface it a bait and switch, he does little to really help people FIND a doctor, understand the complexity - and fails to even mention OTHER tick borne infections.

Tells the women in this other video that taking a shower, just let them wash off, is the best way as most don't really attach. Ugh.

Looking around at his site, seems he has so many errors in this link, so many. And he's calling it "post lyme syndrome" now, too. Says early treatment usually works and if not, oh, well, "post"

Also thinks ticks need to be attached for 36 hours. Perpetuating myths.

Note to new comers here: Do NOT rely on everything posted on this page. Some good, some not quite correct.

I didn't watch it, but from what I 'hear', yes of course there were inaccurate statements,

But he opened his show about Lyme disease and took the
Lyme Challenge with his whole audience-

and I read it was communicated Lyme is a serious and deadly disease that needs more attention.

The hardworking lyme Moms put this lyme challenge together on their own, launched it, and the public attention it's garnering has been amazing.

The clip on the site showed him taking the "bite out of lyme" - & it's good to he had the audience do that, too.

The clip I saw, true, he does convey the seriousness of it. And I'm not sure what else the show included.

As a reference page, though, my disappointment just caught me off guard . . . and the fear that someone will read his page and really miss the mark.

I think he likely displays as much as the IDSA will "let" him regarding his words on "post lyme syndrome" (or does he just not even look beyond them?)

and I just keep wishing he'd start looking at ILADS for the truth about lyme.

It's hard to say "great" when someone does a job but only does PART of it really well & the rest has such errors left in the "official record" of the web reference page but,

as lyme / TBD goes, we have come to realize that even one good thing said, we are just required to be ever so grateful.

And are, with some sadness, of course, due to the inherent dangers that are left for others to subtle over. How many hundreds in the coming months / years will read what he says on his page about no treatment beyond a certain time because it's then "post lyme syndrome"?

How may will think a tick attached for 35.5 hours -- or even one hour - is risk free?

Can taking part in the challenge and being nice to people who are ill & admitting that, "yes, this is serious" make up for stating as fact on a "lyme facts" page things that are untrue & can cause great agony?

I hear you Keebler, I agree.

For a naive gal like me tho who had no clue what Lyme disease was until 6 years ago (and I'm 48) never seen a tick that I'm aware of,

and if I actually had a bullseye rash come up, I would have shrugged and thought 'mosquito bite, something harmless'

etc. etc. these shows really can give a spark of awareness that just may save one more.

Just trying to stay positive. And hopefully if some googles 'post lyme disease' they will also pull up some TRUTH and read that, too.
