Interesting.

I keep thinking about being hospitalized in July of 1995 with suspected meningitis. Later they said it was just a bad kidney infection.

I've had kidney infections and they never came on suddenly like this illness did. I was fine in the morning, took a nap and woke with stiff calves. Later a fever of 103.9 and a stiff neck. It never hurt when I pee'd.

In between diagnoses, the hospital ran all kinds of tests on me for stuff like HIV because I had piercings and a tattoo.

No one ever said or suggested Lyme or checked me for a rash...maybe because I lived in Ohio and supposedly, Lyme wasn't in Ohio (even though the CDC has cases reported in Ohio back to 1986).

No one asked me if I liked to be outdoors.

No one asked if we had pets.

No one asked where we lived (my father lived on a densely wooded property next to a river with deer frequenting his property).
