This story has so many familiar components, involving a child, and having to travel for treatment. But, the mom is a city councilwoman and an effective advocate for Lyme disease awareness.

We need lots more like her.

Here is an article from the Councilwoman's city, Deleware, OH

One of the members of the Ohio Lyme Disease Link posted this on the OLdL Facebook page - and called Councilwoman Keller. They had a very good conversation.

Has anyone heard of the TICK pamphlet described in the article?

I like how this city is taking Lyme disease seriously. Great photo of Megan's bullseye rash.

“Check for ticks” flyer with the acronym TICKS, which stands for:

• Treat clothing or skin with repellents.

• Inspect yourself, clothing and gear for ticks.

• Clean and disinfect any area where a tick was removed.

• Keep a record of the date the tick was removed.

• Shower or wash off as soon as possible after coming indoors.
