Ellicottville was hardest hit, I believe, on Saturday night. Half a foot of rain in just a couple of hours. The whole center of the city was devastated.

Noticed that TC hadn't been here in a bit. I believe she lives in MD.
Please let us know, TC.

I live very near Ellicott City, the place that was flooded.

It is the old town part that flooded. So, a small area. It is full of quaint shops and restaurants.

The old town is on a river and part of the river runs under the town, so flooding in this very low lying area happens every few years.

This was a flash flood that swept cars away with people in them. Many people heroically risked their lives to help others get out of their cars to safety.

One man and one woman died, both in their 30s. (So, TC was not among the deceased.) Otherwise, it is just buildings, sidewalks, and stores that are destroyed.

I've seen this happen in the old town many times. This is the tourist area. It is the geographic location that makes it so susceptible to flooding.

TC was of the age group of when a birthday rolled around they got a year younger.

So that makes TC about 30 plus or minus.

Ann-OH,

Thanks so very much for caring and thinking about me. That means a lot. Just now seeing your post.

I'm good and again, thanks for asking. It was a nasty thing for the folks in Ellicott City though. My heart goes out to them.

We lost my family home (historic Victorian) in one of the hurricanes that hit Maryland. It stood for over 120 years and freakishly during one of the hurricanes the flood water came inland and destroyed it. So I do know what they are going through. Being displaced like that is so hard.

As for TF and Just Don...

Yes, I JUST missed that 30 year old description. Thank you so much for your concerns. HA!
